Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Illinois

I stopped into Tropical Smoothie this afternoon for a little treat and was absolutely delighted by the two young ladies working, Michelle and Lizbeth. They were just the sweetest girls — so polite, so friendly, and they both had the kind of smiles that instantly brighten your day.

I ordered the Bahama Mama (first time trying it!) and let me tell you, I could taste the love in every sip. It was blended perfectly — not too icy, not too watery, just smooth and refreshing. Michelle made sure everything was just right, and Lizbeth chatted with me so kindly while I waited, like I was an old friend.

These girls really went above and beyond. In a world where good customer service feels rare, they reminded me of the way things used to be — genuine, warm, and thoughtful. Tropical Smoothie should be very proud to have them.

I placed an order with a gentleman who had a face mask on him, so I barely hurt him, but I placed an order for “ Bahama, mama”. It turned out they have two different items in their menu. There are called in the same way, the first one is Bahama mama smoothie and the second one is Bahama mama bowl, I wanted a bowl, they got me a smoothie, when I came back to the register and ask the same gentleman to get me a bowl instead of a smoothie, he gave me a lecture on what I did wrong and said :” it is very important for you to say Bahama bowl, since otherwise I have two guess what you want?” And I paid for it, of course, and I said I don’t mind paying for a smoothie as well, I like your smoothies, but he was extremely rude, and I’m professional lecturing me on the right way to...

One man working. I was the only person in there. The man came out of the back room and seemed irritated I was bothering him. I smiled and said hello since he never acknowledged me. He ignored me. Weird. I ordered my normal three smoothies. He made them one at a time and the second one he must have put something in it he wasn’t supposed to bc he threw a little fit about it then started over. Another customer walked in 10 minutes ago. He’s been ignored the entire time. It took 20 minutes for 3 smoothies. It felt like I was on candid camera. I’ll go back to driving from Buffalo Grove to the Vernon Hills location. At least they’re super friendly and fast there. Btw, two of my $14 smoothies were inedible.
