Church's Texas Chicken — Restaurant in Independence

We usually go to another Church's location, but tried this one since we were nearby. We will not be back.

The service was friendly and fast, but the chicken was very dry and half of the Mac n' cheese was dark brown like it had burnt to the pan.

Not good and not what I paid $35 for.

It wasn't just a few pieces of chicken either. Out of the 16 pieces we got, every piece was dry and tough.

We would have returned the food for a replacement if we weren't already home and it was pouring rain and storming.

We stopped after a long day outside and were very disappointed to get home to find the food we were given was either overcooked or dried out from sitting under a heat lamp.

Some of the skin on the chicken was so dry it was hard to tear through.

The okrah and mashed potatoes were actually wonderful, but the Mac n' cheese was also overcooked or old. It was completely burnt on the bottom of the container and because of that was a dark brown color.

We will not be back to this location. We live nearby, but this will not be one...

Worst time I've had in a long time. For some reason manager thinks it's ok to short change the order bye 2 pieces. She never said they were sorry for this. I wasted 1:30 min time and gas on a work night. She never made an attempt to make things ok except to add the twelve again. At first she wanted to give us 2 pieces but I complained to that. What a terrible lady unkind to others and she doesn't even care. I only went there because 5 months prior I walked in for a family pack and a nice lady thought I was short of money to pay. She reached in her pocket for own 5.00 bucks to help me pay for my order. This is a lady that cares from her heart and what I saw tonight was the next closer in Independence.

With service like this who needs it...good bye never to return.

Pray for that beautiful lady with a heart of Gold. Pray that life will always be kind to her and her family. I wish I would had got her name...

If I could I wouldn't even have given them one star. My experience was so horrible that I will not be returning to that location anymore. I had a coupon to use but forgot to mention it at the time of ordering. And wasn't allowed to change my order to use it once I got to the pickup window. I ended up spending almost $18 for two people. That's ridiculous. The Chicken fried steak meal I ordered for my bf was cold and looked like it had been sitting all day. Then I had to sit at the window after receiving my food for almost 5 minutes before the kid came back to the window. He gave me a dirty look because I hadn't left. He didn't give me my drinks that came with the meals. When I told him that he rolled his eyes at me. And still didn't get the drinks right. I asked for Coke and Dr Pepper and he gave me diet. I was so upset by the time I left because I wasn't planning on spending that much...
