I like Starbucks coffee. I like Starbucks pastries. I travel all over the USA. My business reviews have been read by over 23 million people. I very rarely leave a bad review. The drive-through at this location had a long line that was moving slowly. I decided to go in the lobby and order. They have parking lot spaces reserved for people who order online. One person waiting. I walk in. Cashier finally comes up after about ten minutes. One person working the drive-through. Another is working the counter and lots of voices from an adjoining room. I order a Venti Mocha, Cinnamon Coffee Cake and a bottle of water. I tried to pay with a hundred dollar bill. Cashier freaked. Asked me if I had anything smaller. I handed him a fifty dollar bill. He had to ask the counter person if it was OK. Then he had trouble counting back the change. I found a table and waited. And waited. And waited. Now people came and went. Placed orders. Drive through, people who had ordered ahead online etc. Finally twenty minutes in the counter guy acknowledged me. Said my order would be out. He put it on the counter and walked away. I asked about my bottle of water. He said I had to get it myself out of the counter? When I walked in my clothes were dirty from work I am doing around my house. I broke away to get some coffee. When I pulled out a large bill the cashier was surprised 😮. A lot of the help stood around and talked and joked among themselves. 😳 I know that a lot of homeless are in this area. I also tried to use the bathroom and it was locked and needed a pass code to get in. My summary. Unless you look like the staff expect slow service and to be treated differently. I will...

My girlfriend ordered a Roasted Red Pepper egg white snack because she doesn't eat meat, and they accidently gave us the ham egg snack. I went in and asked for a manager but the manager was on break. So a woman named Ashlyn walked up and I explained the situation to her. She was very understanding and remade the correct red pepper egg white & also made my girlfriend a drink to rectify the mistake.

I was very pleased with how Ashlyn (red head at the blue ridge Starbucks) handled the situation. She genuinely wanted to make it right and she took it very seriously. She was super helpful and truly wanted to go above and beyond to make us happy. My girlfriend is gluten free and allergic to dairy, so she also mentioned that the drink had milk in it so we substituted for soy instead.

Thank you so much Ashlyn at the Starbucks off 40 in Independence. Your great customer service did not go unnoticed .

P.S. Starbucks, y'all should definitely make her a manager. She is definitely management material. My short experience with her during a moment of slight panic (due to the meat thing) means that we will continue to choose Starbucks over the competition, especially this location. She just saved you guys from a 2.5 star review and made our experience worthy of a 5 star review. Normally you guys get a 4 star review due to the fact that it's such a corporate experience, but I hope next time we return to the area Ashlyn is a manager. Starbucks needs more people like her. Mistakes happen, but she turned the mistake into a very positive experience.

Thank you Ashlyn & Starbucks,

A Customer Who Used To Go To Scooters & Now Will...

I stop by a few times a week and my drink always tastes different. They need to work on procedures and consistency. Aren't as up beat with that ⭐ bucks attitude like every other location. Sometimes they don't say a word and then expect a tip....like my total is what?!? 😂 Today they didn't even ring up my order correctly they ring me up for a small iced caramel macchiato with three shots of espresso I literally order the same thing every day that's why I don't even like giving you folks my name because upon giving you this review you have messed my order up every single time I have come by... The barista proceeded to take the small drink she originally made, poured it in a venti cup, added so much milk there was less than a fourth of coffee. I handed right back, said nope this doesn't look right. The barista said a venti iced Carmel macchiato. Yes with an Xtra shot. I see her go to doctor this one, asked me to pulled forward. I said nope, last time I pulled up you forgot about me and I had to come inside. I'm on a timed break. Just give me a refund. Then they do and they keep my tip. 😡 I'll give you a tip for order accuracy. Called the mgr. She's just as clueless, no apology just I'll refund it again not sure how it works on the tip. This is the worst Starbucks, as a former barista this isn't how you operate

Go back after lunch to get my dollar tip back since I had no coffee and the refund was only for 7.48 the mgr said it would refund another 7.48, I don't need 14$ I need my 1$ I was forced to take it out of the tip jar. All this headache for...

After leaving my oatmeal off my order causing me to return and come into the store, they made me a soupy batch causing me to return and come back in. After waiting 5-10 min in line and oatmeal was still soupy, they told me it needed to steep. When I told them it had enough time to steep, the lady with red hair angrily made another batch. When I opened it was a glue like substance, it seemed on purpose. I didn't go back in. The coffee with milk were a dark Carmel color, when I asked for more milk, they then dumped 2inches out and over poured the milk resulting in cold coffee. This was a mismanaged and very rude crew. So disappointing.

Super ease stop while you're on the road from I-70. Super clean location and quick. The staff is always there ready to take your order. Also, a quick stop before the chiefs game to warm up. Do not I repeat do not park in front of the Starbucks door!! It gets busy in a hurry, and you can get stuck, not able to pull out, and there is nothing the people in line can do because it's funneled in. That's the downfall about the location is the ability to not park and get out quickly. Park over at the t-mobile when you see it's busy so you can get out.
