Let me start off by saying I've literally never walked out of a restaurant before, nor has my husband but we did today. We had called several places trying to decide where to eat but IHOP wasn't busy so we decided to go there. We talked in and there's lots of open tables and servers so we figured great, should be sat quickly and be able to eat quickly. We stood there for a good 5 minutes before someone even came to the front, once someone did she started to ring up the 3rd person who was waiting. Didn't even acknowledge us or say hi. Both us and the gentleman who was also waiting when we came in looked at each other a bit surprised. After she rang him up she walked away then came back and said she would get us a table, ok great. Well she walked around and another person came up and ended up sitting us. At the smallest spaced table ever. We aren't very big people but my husband was scrunched in so I asked a lady up front if I could move to a larger booth, she didn't really seem sure but said she figured it was fine so we moved. Once sat at the new table a nice lady got our drink order and brought them out to us. My hot chocolate was oily? Like I could scoop grease off the top, not sure if the mug wasn't properly cleaned but it was gross. We finally had our actual server come up, and promptly didn't tell us her name and informed us she didn't know she had our table. Okay I've worked restaurants before that happens occasionally. She asked if we were ready we said yes (we had been sitting 15 minutes at this point) my husband tells me to go ahead and I'm about to order and she just walked away.... she came back took the order and we didn't see her again. We ended up sitting for about 20 more minutes and decided to let another server know we were leaving. Overall it was an awful experience. I really like IHOP and used to love this specific location. I don't know if they have changed owners or what. But the (I'm assuming manager) and several other people seemed to be just hanging out by the kitchen computer and weren't really interested in customer service. I'd love to come back and see a clean restaurant and good servers but at this point not...
Read moreI went to IHOP for dinner with my girlfriend and my parents after a fun night out together. It was late in the night and the restaurant was not busy at all so we thought it'd be a good place to eat and be home sooner. Plus everyone wanted some breakfast for dinner. We came in and it was not busy. Many of the tables and the floor around them were still messy.
Our waitress was very nice and seated us quick. She asked what we wanted to drink and about 5 to 10 minutes later our drinks showed up (coffee, waters, and chocolate milks) and then we ordered. After we ordered we never saw our waitress again and had to go find her. Every time we passed by the kitchen she was just standing in there talking to cooks or another waitress. We couldn't even flag her down.
She never came by us or her other table behind us who we never saw get to order. We never got checked on. After an hour and ten minutes of waiting and trying to be patient our food finally showed up as we were about to get up pay for the coffee and milks and just go home. The food was all cold and simply unedible. Pancakes, eggs, hasbrowns, burritos, bacon, everything.
It all had to have just been sitting on a counter for at least a half hour. My chocolate chip pancakes weren't even mentled anymore. The chocolate was solid again. Even the bottom of our pancake stacks were cold. That should've at least still been a little warm.
About 10 minutes later the waitress finally came back and asked us how everything was. We told her everything was cold and that we waited a really long time for everything. We were very kind about it. She immediately said she was just going to get the manager, who also never told us her name. Neither of them did now that I think about it. She told us to ask for her the next time we came in, but she took off before we could even get a name. They didn't have us pay for any of the bill. We do not plan on coming back in to this location, and probably no longer come to IHOP after the service we've had the last 3 times at different locations. We're understanding people, but this was just unbelievably...
Read moreIf you’re a delivery driver (UberEats & DoorDash) I would not recommend picking up orders here especially on holidays. They don’t have enough staff and lack organization. I arrived at 11:25 AM to pick up two UberEats orders. The restaurant was packed with regular customers and delivery drivers waiting on orders. That’s to be expected be, but I feel like they could’ve better prepared for the holiday. Why not have certain number of employees working on regular in store customers orders and others working on delivery orders and other online orders?? I literally had to ask multiple employees on updates on my orders which they would walk away and never come back with the update. Then they had the nerve to start getting upset with delivery drivers because we were asking how much longer the wait would be. We kept getting the same answer that “everything is being worked on.”
Shout out to the older black man that offered us a cup of water! That should be common sense since we’re doing a service for ihop and have to wait so long! He seemed to be the only employee that cared! Then instead of working on orders that drivers were actively waiting for they choose to work on random ones! There were orders being called out that no one was even there to pick up! What sense does that make?!
Anyways like I stated previously, I arrived at 11:25 AM by 12:45 AM my first customer had cancelled her order then by 1:37 PM the final customer cancelled hers too! So I waited over 2 hours for nothing! I lost out on $38 + two tips because this store was not properly prepared for the holiday and lack organization skills! Do better next time because what I witnessed today was ridiculous! If you all cannot handle both in store patrons and delivery orders then TURN UBEREATS AND...
