Completely disrespected and lied to by an employee. I have sold and bought books here for 8 years(one time spent $600 in one month buying books from HPB). Tonight I only had one box containing 10 vintage books. Now that I'm disabled its a bit harder to bring them stuff. As I walked in the door the cashier yells from across the way, "we're not taking buys". When I asked why not, she said "we stopped for the day". I have brought books as late as 15 minutes till closing and they have taken them. So for only a small stack of books, and it being 7:20 pm, didn't figure it would be an issue. I asked when they cut off taking buys, she says, "like right now" with a very made up airhead tone of voice. Then she says, "we cut off buys around 7:20ish every day". The customers she was ringing up also thought her attitude was out of line. They helped me put my books back in my car since it was raining pretty hard, and since I can hardly walk. They said "sorry about all that, she was all wrong back there". Guess what HPB? When I got home I threw the books in the garbage, you know what else went in the garbage? My respect for your store, your staff, and 8 years of being a...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI like the idea of this store and it's variety, however I took about 40 DVDs (some were Disney) and about 20 books and got only $10.75. My movies were in a book and their cases were in a storage box, so I know they weren't all in "bad" shape. At less than .18 cents per item, I would have faired better selling them on Ebay, and since my 3 bags full were heavy, I just couldn't bother carrying them all back to my car. I would have been less critical if I got like a minimum of $20. Trust me, trade your movies and music at Vintage Stock if you want a quick transaction... you will get more cash or trade. Or just sell online or via garage sales. For going in and shopping, this place would get a 4 or 5 star. For selling, they will rip you off.
P.S. sellers: those cardboard dvd or blu ray covers are more valuable to collectors than the movies and sell on Ebay (depending on genre) from $30 and up on their own... so yeah, don't sell here unless you are only looking for just a couple bucks and are just...
