Lucky Dragon — Restaurant in Independence

My mom and I just ate here for the first time a few days ago. The food was good but the service was bizarre. We usually go to a Chinese food restaurant in Dallas and that food is good as well but we also get wonderful normal service . She was very bossy potentially that's just who she is. When my mom got a can of Pepsi instead of a glass with ice she went to request it lost with ice and the woman waved her off like she was the hired help. My mom and I would laugh together as that's what we do a lot and she kept looking back and flashing a glare at us as if she thought we were laughing at her. When I went to the register and asked where the restrooms were her and her husband barked at me in Chinese and waved me off as if I was standing in a forbidden area lol. The atmosphere was weird as they had a lot of pink just didn't care for it. Extremely dated. She told me to leave my total because my tip was zero and when I told her it is totaled she walked away tearing up my receipt aggressively. My mom and I just looked at each other like what the hell's going on. We usually go to milgadesh the river. We will continue their and never go back to Lucky Dragon again. Great that so many other people had wonderful experiences but I don't understand how with the very strange...

I moved to Independence about 6 months ago. We were really tired from moving all day and ordered for pick up from this restaurant. It was really good! However I went again a month or so later and it was ok food, but nothing to rave about. Again a month or so later we ordered take out again and ordered it online. When I went to pick it up, it was not ready. And I was 10 minutes late arriving. I had to wait about 30 minutes before I got our order. And it was aweful. So tonight we decided to try them one more time. Again, ordering online at 7pm for a 9pm pick up time. I arrived at 9pm and they did not have my order ready. They did not even have my order at all! I ordered everything with the cashier again and she looked on her phone and found the order after all. So it was their error. She finally brought me our food in about 10 minutes. Got home and again it was aweful. Chow Mein was dry, sweet and sour chicken was over cooked and hard to chew and I almost broke a tooth on my EggFoo Yung! When should you get hard pieces of what looked to be meat in that dish?!! That was enough for me, we will drive into Independence from now on to get better quality of food and better service instead of the corner low grade restaurant...

I took my wife and kids to this place on a Saturday when there was an event happening in town. When we arrived, it was empty. We got sat down and got our drinks which were water and some soda. Their cups were slightly dirty. Food came out decently fast and it was very hot. Food was delicious especially the bbq pork, it was fresh and juicy. We enjoyed our food so much we came back next week to try it again. I’m not sure what happened but we were extremely dissatisfied. The server seemed like she didn’t want to be there or she was in a bad mood, couldn’t quite tell. Food came out quick and it was just warm, not as hot as the first time. Our appetizers came out with our food which tells me it must of been sitting for a little bit, hence why it wasn’t very hot. The food just looked sad and very unappetizing. The pork that we were expecting and excited about was dryer than saw dust and almost tasted like it was microwaved. I’m assuming a lot of the food was microwaved. It sucks to come and sit down and expect that same experience you had the first time to just get mediocrity the second. Wish it was as good as...
