Maybe I’m jaded, but Mexican restaurants have completely underwhelmed me lately. I’m not really difficult to please. THANK YOU Casa Mexico for being all the things the others haven’t. It was clean, bright, and the service was quite attentive. The chips were prompt and crisp. The food portions were very generous, and I loved the rice and beans. So many times you get beans that have just sit in a warmer so they come out thick and pasty. These were awesome. My wife was amazed at the size of the quesadilla, and enjoyed the margarita. Once sat we received quite attentive service.
The salsa is more thin, so don’t expect chunky. It tastes great and the chips were thin and crispy. No greasy stuck together or tiny shards. We probably ate way too many.
I also liked the staff, they seemed to be into the upbeat music, and enjoying themselves. A couple of things I’d suggest. After the dinner rush, once it gets less busy be mindful of just how LOUD the music is playing. We came in at 730p or so and there were only 3-4 tables seated. It was wicked loud music, unsure it’s like that all the time, but seemed excessive. Also, I’d consider banning the phones for the hostesses, or having them only check them in the back if necessary.
We entered the restaurant with some other couple and we all stood there in the doorway waiting and exchanging comical glances as we waited for the hostess to finish typing a text, and she even took a selfie/Snapchat before even acknowledging us… I’d estimate an easy 20-25 seconds. Didn’t apologize, just let us wait. I mean it’s no big deal, but just a bad look. We actually sat near the front and watched as she spent probably 75% of her time on the phone. Not refilling drinks, wiping menus, helping bus tables. Again, it’s clearly not a big deal, but a somewhat poor front house reflection on what was otherwise a good dining experience.
We will...
Read moreTheir salsa is not desirable at all. It has a weird flavor to it. The service was not good either. It took a few minutes for them to bring me salsa & chips. Which at that time I was given a menu as well by the buser. Then I had already been there for awhile needing a drink before someone finally came to my table and he didn't introduce himself. He just said, are you ready? I ordered in detail what I wanted and he was nice & did explain some things to me but then when my food came, I received the wrong meat in the burrito that I asked for. I had all of my food gone before he finally came back to ask if I wanted a refill of my drink. At that time I explained that I asked for ground beef and got shredded. He tried to argue with me and said that I said beef. I said, yes. But I asked for ground. At that point he turned and walked away. Didn't say anything. Nothing about okay I'm sorry let me get you a different one or do you still want another one. He just left. It was very awkward and unpleasant. Then a few minutes later he came back & said "Hot plate". Put a new one in front of me & walked away again. Again, nothing about I hope this is better or was everything else okay. Nothing. I then sat there for over 15 minutes before he finally came back with the check asking if I wanted a box. The chile relleno was very tasty & the Tamale was good. Rice & beans were good as well. But the service was not what I expected for ratings of 4.3 stars. I felt like the server was very short & rude & could have very easily pleased me but instead his attitude made it a bad experience. I wouldn't say that this was the worse service that I've ever received when giving a business my money. But it definitely wasn't good either. The guacamole was just okay. Although the food for the most part was good, I probably will...
Read moreI'm leaving a review of 1 star because Google makes you select at least one, but I wish I could leave a review of -10 stars. Probably the worst service I've ever had at a restaurant, and I'm pretty sure it was the manager who was waiting our table. It's shocking this place can stay in business. We ordered frozen margaritas and he brought us margaritas on the rocks. We asked for water, and he brought us straws but no water...I'm not kidding. We had to flag down one of the bus boys to get us water because our waiter (the manager) never returned to our table, not even after our meals were served. Instead he stood behind the bar cutting up with kitchen workers and sat in a booth with some other customers acting like a big shot. And our meals were so-so at best. Nobody goes to a restaurant to eat "so-so at best". Even worse than the terrible service was the pathetic salsa. If you're a Mexican restaurant and you can't make good salsa, just close the doors and go to work at Taco Bell (at least their Diablo sauce is halfway decent). The final straw was when we waited 10 minutes for our check and ended up going to the register and asking to pay. A bus boy rang us up with someone else's ticket because he couldn't figure out the cash register system and how to...
