Yesterday evening the service I received (from the young woman who seemed to be supervising) was rude and racist. After washing my hands before ordering, I'd let a white couple ahead of me. Having been going to Naf Naf the past 3 - 4 yrs, I was surprised to hear the couple being told a bowl could come with a half & half (chicken & steak) at the same.price as a single meat serving. The woman ordered a half/half, and her guy ordered a double steak. The half/half serving was "very generous." So, when my turn came I replied, "I'd like the same thing she has. The half & half." Fast.forward, the young man ringing up the white couple's food informed the supervisor he didn't know how to ring the order up, so instead of showing him she stepped in and rung it up then stepped away so he could cash it out. With drinks, and double meat their order totaled $34 and some change - which clearly means the supervisor gave away free food and/or drinks (were they family members she was giving the mom & pop shop hookup?). When it was my turn to be rung up total inconsistent chaos ensued. The supervisor began blatantly lying, was called out by another employee on a lie, stalled service, continued lying, and after I questioned the inconsistency as racist, and a racially diverse crowd of patrons began to appear, she (the supervisor) tried hiding in the back. Soon a young black coworker came from the back wanting to insert herself in the conversation talking about "My homie," but immediately got quiet when I informed her "I'm 56, not one of your peers (though often mistaken for 30 something)," and then asked the lady behind me with her phone camera facing us, "Are you recording this?" Eventually, the coworker who'd called out a lie (Angela is on my receipt), rung me out. I informed them service should be consistent and I will be getting in touch with the owner. ... I'd love to know if the supervisor's customer service values aren't in line with Naf Naf's customer service values are they willing to keep such a thief and/or racist in a...
Read moreThe atmosphere inside is very neat, clean, and modern. A great place for a lunch date. The staff were courteous and it was very easy to order. The lines were quick, the meat was fresh (just came off the grill when we walked up!), and all the selections looked appealing. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
Came on a Wednesday and got the BOGO chicken kebabs -- a fantastic deal when you see how much food you get in just one plate. Also used the app to gain points towards a free meal (code SteveBloss4792 if you wanna join đ). Very reasonably priced and the serving sizes are plentiful.
Now onto the food! The food tasted very fresh and the way the employees put it together shows care. The falafel was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The chicken was well-seasoned and while it wasn't juicy, it certainly wasn't dry. The chopped salad added any moisture the chicken might have been missing. The harissa and garlic sauce have amazing flavor and made the dishes smell even more mouthwatering. The pitas were soft, the rice tender, and the sumac onions were delicious!
The only things Naf-Naf could improve on is their options. Having other Middle Eastern dishes or other vegetable options would greatly improve my experience. Moreover, some crafted drinks like mint lemonade or Turkish coffee or a fruit salad with some figs or dates would be fantastic. If the cashiers asked "Could I interest you in our fries or baklava?" Instead of "Will that be all for you?", it could also help customers be willing to try the rest of what the restaurant has to offer.
Overall, a great place to grab a bite. Expect to...
Read moreHistorically my husband and I have loved Naf Naf. Over the past few years, I've lost my interest in it. I've found other restaurants with better-tasting options.
When they added schnitzel to their menu a few years ago, I was over it. (That may have been the Parma location only, but I'm not sure).
These last few weeks, my husband has been craving Naf Naf. Particularly after learning, the one in Parma closed. If my husband is craving something, he won't stop until he has it. So, Today we were in the neighborhood, and I was like, hey, let's eat here. I decided to eat it because I had a taste for Mediterranean food.
We tried to order online, which was very easy until checkout. You had to create an account. We attempted to create an account, and we couldn't go through due to an error message. So we ordered inside.
The good: The service is excellent, clean, and quick The garlic sauce was delicious Pickles delicious Steak was good
The okay: Rice Fries, if you like thinly sliced, just not my cup of tea
The bad:
The chicken was a bit dry or had been sitting a little long
The pita was raw, like Pillsbury biscuit dough. I had to put them in the air fryer to make them edible.
Overall the food was bland, except for the garlic sauce.
I understand people like Naf Naf, it's...
