Skyline Chili — Restaurant in Independence

We are loyal Skyline fans, however, the Independence (and Taylor Mill) locations consistently miss the mark. If it wasn't for the Union, KY location, we would probably give up on Skyline altogether, and so would many of people I know. My family of 6 went to the Independence, KY location, and once again, the meal was horrific. We waited for over an hour for our food, bins of dirty dishes were piled on the floor, and our food was terrible. The restroom had urine and feces on the floor. The staff joked that the bins of dirty dishes had been there most of the day. When we finally got our food (waited an hour), my child's hotdog was cold, and my salad was supposed to have chilled chicken. The chicken wasn't just chilled, it was FROZEN all the way through. It was like chewing on an ice cube. It makes me sick just thinking about it. The server offered to get us something else, but we didn't want to wait another hour for the replacement. Meanwhile, 2 teenage boys were seated by us, and received their food within minutes, while other tables waited for as long as we did. When we received the bill and went to pay, the young man at the desk asked how our food was and I said "not good." His response was "uh, yeah. Do you want to leave a tip," and then laughed. The staff went back to talking about Tik Tok videos. I felt so disrespected, that I then asked for the manager. The manager was very nice and apologized. She actually seemed to care. I don't think I have asked to speak to any manager for anything, ever. It's going to be a very long time before we eat at another Skyline. This location is definitely not up to par with the...

EDIT: I am updating my review from a 1-star to 3-star, based on the corporate attentiveness to my issue. They addressed my concerns and offered a refund and coupon. However, due to the price for what you get I will not be giving a 5-star.

I hardly ever go to Skyline as their chili is subpar to me than others around the Cincinnati area. However, I received a gift card for 10$. So I decided to get the #4 which was a cheese coney and a regular 3-Way.

Well from there it all went downhill. I wait in line with 2 other vehicles for 17 minutes. Once at the window I was never apologized to for the wait (not a big deal) but found out that the meal was over 10$ (quite shocking). So I paid some on my card as I didn’t have cash on me. Once home I open it up and see what appears to be a child’s 3-way and a rubbery hotdog with plastic cheese.

I went back to the store and asked if this was possibly a mistake-seeing as it was over 10dollars for a hotdog and noodles- but nope it wasn’t. I asked for my gift card back and they hesitated but reluctantly obliged. Never once did they apologize or seemed a bit concerned for the customer. This will be my last time at a skyline. The absolute worst Skyline in the city or beyond. Good luck going through the drive thru, and getting your order correct! If you are lucky when you get home you will have some cheese for Ways, your cheese fries might be half fried with not the right cheese you paid for, and their recommendation to fix it to come back up and get more cheese!!!

This wasn't a one time mess up, but a continued string of left out food, cheese, sad looking Ways and even more. Skyline isn't cheap and it gets old looking for thi gs at home to make up for their mistakes.

I did find the Industrial Road Skyline has excellent food, the workers there do double checks on their take-out and really seem to have it together, and even better are super friendly!!!!!

I will add this sad representation of a Gary Holland establishment makes me wonder what the new ones will represent in...
