1st I have to say that I'll always support African American Businesses but this one may not deserve my business just yet.
• This place nicely decorated but it is super small and was extremely crowded with people also outside waiting for someone to scoop cobblers and I cannot understand it. The wait was crazy 🤪!!!! I don't get it, the "cobbler" is baked ahead of time so you would think that it would be kept in a warmer of some sort so that you can get a warm scoop at any time throughout the day but it takes forever for them to scoop two or three little cups of this stuff and you can hear the lady behind the window closing something that sounds like a microwave or some sort of small oven. Are the "cobblers" not fresh, or are they kept cold and warmed per order??
• There were No Menus in sight but they have TVs up with error messages but not one physical menu was offered to us upon entering, you have to ask and the lady up front yells through the window to ask what's available. They have some QR Codes scattered throughout the room but you have to setup an account....
• As far as the "Peach Cobbler", I have been eating cobblers all my life and this doesn't compare to any from anywhere; to be honest, Shane's Rib Shack's Peach Cobbler blows this "peach cobbler" out of the water. It's really not peach cobbler it's peach pie as there is actually a difference. The crust is extremely hard and flavorless and you don't really get that soft crust that you would normally get mixed in the middle with the peaches of a True Peach Cobbler. The peaches in mine were bitter, where do you get bitter peaches? Mine was awful and my woman and I could only take two bites before shaking our heads in dissatisfaction, It Was A Cup Filled With Hard Hard Crust And Just A Couple Pieces Of Bitter Peaches and some flavorless gooey filling. Honestly, The Ice Cream was the best thing they had, that vanilla bean ice cream was awesome!
• The Red Velvet Banana Pudding is the WORST and so is the regular Banana Pudding. This little cup cost $8 but you give me generic Dollar Tree/Discount Store type vanilla wafers and not the good stuff like Nilla Wafers. The Pudding itself taste very cheap and super sweet for no reason; oh I didn't see not one real banana in this very generic, cheap, artificial flavored mess. Never Again, Pinky's and City BBQ both have a much superior Banana Pudding than this joint.
Please figure out how to do better because I so badly wanted to support your establishment well into the future but the way you have things setup at the moment, that is not really a possibility. After I waited forever for those little a** cups that's $8 dollars each, with no pricing known to man until its all rung up, true Highway Robbery!
I hate to leave this review but it's completely honest and I hope I can update this on a positive note at some point. Oh and I never noticed a health grade or a anything else on the wall from DHEC anywhere and it was too late, I was too excited to even look and ended up wasting $40.
I kinda want my money back but I guess I'll have to take this one as both a loss and a lesson. (I really do want my money back, I'll pay for the ice cream and you can have that Pie &...
Read moreThis place has a lot of potential but to have this many issues so soon into opening is not a good sign. This seemed to be an issue of mismanagement as what I imagine is the owners 10-13 year old daughter was stuck running the register and packaging orders by herself while the multiple people in the kitchen were standing around waiting on a microwave to be available. The food was not near good enough to be worth the obnoxiously long wait or outrageous prices. The cobblers themselves showed all signs of being microwaved with the inside being cool and the outer edges being molten hot. The ice cream that comes separate with it was so frozen that it breaks the spork that they give you to prepare your dessert yourself. Also the banana pudding just tastes like your traditional store bought premade kind, nothing seemed homemade whatsoever. You would have a better experience buying a frozen cobbler and ice cream from the grocery store and it would probably be half the price. Nothing about the experience was good enough to give it a second chance sadly. Giving 2 stars instead of one for sympathy for the poor daughter stuck running all that by herself. Edit: Actually updating to 1 star after seeing how this place managed to get several 5 star reviews within 5 minutes of each other. That doesn't seem suspicious at all, if you are going to fake your ratings you should at least space out your fake reviews....
Read moreOh man. Wowzers. Yikes. I rarely leave reviews but this case needed special attention.
Really really terrible pudding, cheapest possible ingredients, tastes exactly as the name implies... made in a giant factory in a land far far away where they use cement mixers to mix sugar and artificial flavoring together, sprinkle in some chinese food coloring and ship it around the world on a barge. Strawberry and Oreo... both were disgusting, oreo was soft as if it had been in the pudding for days (weeks? decades???), and strawberry also wasn't fresh, must've been pumped out of a giant tank at some mass produced strawberry goo conglomerate. Nothing homemade, zero effort applied. Clearly a cash grab by the owners.
Cinnamon roll looked like it came out of the freezer and heated in the microwave, probably sold to them in palletized batches of 10,000 units at 10 cents each. Poured some cheap icing over the top and bingo bango! Charge $10 for it!!!
Advice to owners, stop buying garbage from megacorp food supply trucks and start making your own stuff with fresh ingredients. Research recipes on this thing called the internet, go home and try to perfect them, and then spend your day in the kitchen actually trying to make your business succeed.
To top it all off, prices were horribly high given what we got. Will never be...
