Culver’s — Restaurant in Indiana

I've never had a bad experience at a Culvers, anywhere, until today. We were on our way back to Chicago from Nashville and decided to stop at Culvers on 41 in Terre Haute for lunch. The initial experience was good, the service andunch food we ordered was good. After lunch, I decided to get two scoops of their "crazy about cookie dough" special custard for the road. What they gave me looked nothing like the lovely concoction in the advertisement picture. Mine looked like plain chocolate custard. I stated eating it and found almost no cookie dough in the "crazy for cookie dough" special. I took it back in and said maybe I got the wrong thing. They said no, it's right. I asked if I could have a different flavor because this was not what I thought I was getting (look at the lovely picture). They told me no and that they would give me more cookie dough to put in it. Instead they made me a brand new one (why not just let me pick something different). This one was a little more cookie dough, but still nothing like the fancy advertisement, basically just chocolate (a little runny) custard with a little cookie dough. I honestly don't understand why they wouldn't let me change it. They could easily see what they gave me was not what they were...

First time at a Culvers.. Very lackluster... Very crowded, people who ordered after us kept getting their food while we waited, then the food arrived and was extremely bland, overcooked, and overall low quality. My "butter burger" was the thickness of a smashburger and overcooked to the point it had a burnt taste. I ordered the Sourdough Melt and it was literally just a paper thin overcooked burger with a slice of cheese that wasn't even melted.. I added mayo to it and there was so little that I couldn't even see it or taste it. I had to add condiments to it just to give it flavor.. We have a Culver's in our town (we were visiting from two states away) that people talk so highly of but boy was this one a terrible first impression!

The waiters kept trying to tell us about a damn survey like their lives depended on it but not once we're we ever asked how our food was. Idk how they're even in business with...

I have to say Culver's is one of my all-time favorites. I used to have that food where I used to live before and it was really good. The custard is the best custard I've ever had. I would always recommend the custard. They can make any kind of milkshake you want. If you want marshmallow they have marshmallow. If you want peanut butter they have peanut butter if you want cherry I think they have cherry. I'm not sure about cherry but I know they have blueberry. My personal favorite is the peanut butter marshmallow hot fudge milkshake. It's absolutely delectively delicious. I hope you take my advice and get a milkshake and don't be a weirdo. Don't forget when you drink those milkshakes it will bring all the boys to the yard....
