Neighbors — Restaurant in Indiana

We ordered two smash burgers, a brat, and some chili from their "soft open" menu. If I could give this restaurant 4 1/2 stars I would but I docked the full star instead because of the pathetic showing of greenery on the burger (shown in picture-both lettuce and a pathetic slice of tomato) because if I had been eating this in the restaurant it would have probably been not passable, but it was takeout so I was able to add my own iceberg to the burger which made it a fantastic burger. The fries were a generous portion and were still hot, crispy and yummy by the time we got home which is important because a lot of take out fries wilt and get yucky from the steam on the way home but these were great. My boyfriend said the chili was very good, meaty and well seasoned with good flavor and the serving size was generous/large for the price. We both thought the smash burgers were well cooked and tasted good overall and this place is a good addition to the area because there's not a lot of places to get smash burgers that aren't fast food or niche smash burgers. A major disappointment!!!

I had heard nothing but good about Neighbors. Finally got a chance to visit for the first time yesterday. Should have realized something was up, when the place was almost dead at noon!! No lunch crowd = not real good food???

Ordered the smashburger lunch special. It is a double smashburger. Very disappointed. Looks like they took a McDonald's patty and cut off about a third of it and then cooked it to death. I didn't think anybody could screw up a burger worse than McDonald's, but they managed too. It was overcooked tough dry. No flavor, no taste. I asked the waiters about the fries. She told me the waffle fries were seasoned. Never said anything about the regular fries being coated. They were not very good at all. Do bar owners not understand. We went for lunch there was one waitress and one cook working the waitress promptly greeted us and got our drink order from there it was downhill. It took 45 minutes after she took our order to receive our food the frustration was due to two tables who came in after us who received their food long before we did, no drink refills and the women’s restroom had no hand soap and since it was a pretty big dispenser I can only assume there has been no soap for a couple of days.
