We recently had our first experience with one of the newest additions to the Newburgh dining scene. Walking through the door, we were surprised and pleased to see the space had been totally redesigned after the previous sports bar closed. The muted colors and decor were a nice cross between an upscale sports bar and an upscale casual restaurant. We were greeting by a smiling face and seated immediately, with crispy house-made potato chips following in short order.
Our server, Tracy, was awesome. Her excitement and knowledge of the menu guaranteed a great experience. Her recommendations were spot-on.
We started with the Prime Sticks: three large wedges of fresh mozzarella cheese breaded in panko and fried to golden-brown deliciousness. The standard order of three was more than enough for the two of us. Each was the size of a large hash brown patty, and was oozing with creamy melted cheese.
For the entrees, I ordered the 6 oz. Sirloin with Prime Onion Soup and Brocolli. The steak was seasoned perfectly and well trimmed. The broccoli was the standard steamed presentation, but was perfectly cooked. Still al dente and not over seasoned. The Prime Onion soup, which they bill as their take on the classic French onion, was good. The broth had the tang of the cognac, the beefy undertones, and plenty of sauteed onions. It was a little on the salty side for my liking, and I'd have appreciated a more traditional toasted crouton, rather than the small cubes of bread, but I appreciate their take on the classic, nonetheless. My wife ordered the Prime Rib with mashed potatoes and their cheesy mac. The prime rib was tender and delicious. The mashed potatoes were good, but the cheesy Mac was the star of the evening. This blend of cheddar and gouda cheese sauce, with large macaroni and crispy bacon bits is the clear star of the show. Craveable, comfort food to say the least.
We will definitely be back to try their burgers. We have heard their burgers recently won Reader's Choice, so we will have to judge for ourselves. If the meal we had tonight was any indication, the burgers will be top-notch. And speaking of burgers.... they are $2 off on...
Read moreThe overall experience was great! My wife and I came on a Friday night, it was packed but we were still seated quickly. Quicker than they originally told us which we appreciate.
We got the pretzel sticks and the prime burger. The prime burger was fantastic 9/10 (a perfect ten in my mind is near impossible). The burger was cooked to order, the meat on top of it was perfect, bacon was great, onion straws were tasty and crunchy. They didn't come out soggy or greasy on the burger! Sauce on top was amazing too. Only note was the meat could've used a little more seasoning. The pretzel sticks were fresh and wonderful, cheese was very good too. I've had better but overall 8/10. We thought the pretzels could use salt but it wasn't a deal breaker by any means.
Service was 10/10! I loved that the server left a handwritten card with her name on it. Thoughtful touch to help the table remember. Atmosphere was a solid 9/10 too. Nice for the space and location. It's a high end burger / pub type place.
The Beer & cocktail list was lacking honestly, the only thing I saw that could use improvement. It was more the presentation of it all. There wasn't a cocktail menu (that we saw anyways) and the beers were poorly listed off. It's a nice burger place with a nice bar so you would think there would be a focus on a beer menu. To be clear there was a decent amount of options it was just poorly presented with few craft beer options. World of beer would be a good example of someone doing a great beer menu.
Overall we were super happy, will recommend and be back! I only give my input like this because I want you guys to succeed! Thank you Paige for being a...
Read moreWe just moved back home after 7 years and decided to give Prime Time Newburgh a shot for dinner. We’re used to our favorite spots in places like Bardstown Road and East Louisville, but wow—this was a great welcome back! The food was absolutely amazing. I tried their new smash burger (so good!), my husband had the prime rib sandwich, and both of our kiddos got the mac and cheese—which my husband insists deserves a shoutout for being super creamy and delicious.
But where Prime Time really shines is their service. It honestly deserves 20/5 stars. Our waitress was fantastic—super attentive, patient with all our menu questions, and checked in often. Even the manager stopped by multiple times to make sure we were doing well. Our kids are 3 and 5, so let’s just say things can get a little… energetic. Our daughter ended up busting her lip while playing in the booth. Within seconds of hearing her cry, our server was right there with a homemade ice pack, checking on her and making sure she was okay. Not long after, she came back with a surprise dessert to help cheer her up. Then the manager came out to check on her too. It was all incredibly thoughtful and above-and-beyond.
We left so impressed. A 10/10 experience, and we’re already looking forward to...
