I was really excited to try this place and since I had family in town, I decided we would place a to go order. I have a picky kid who eats the same thing, every time, when it comes to Mexican food…a chicken and cheese burrito. That meal (we were purchasing the adult meals for the kids) always comes with beans and rice. Every Mexican restaurant we have ever eaten at has had no problems putting the rice and beans separate from the burrito (he doesn’t like the beans and rice sticking to the queso on his burrito). My nephew is autistic and doesn’t like his food “touching or being mixed.” Rita’s refused to simply put the sides in a separate to go box 🤔 I honestly thought it was a language barrier until someone else came and told me that was not possible. I was so confused and just left. Why would you lose a new customer and over a $100 order over to go boxes? I would’ve even paid for the cost of the boxes if that was an option.
I decided to drive down the road to try Rancho Alegre instead where they had no issues putting the items in separate boxes (without an up-charge) and the food was hot and delicious! If you’ve got “picky eater’s” I suggest trying Rancho Alegre, they were more than...
Read moreVisited October '23 for a family members birthday and the experience/service was incredibly slow/mediocre.
In December, staff ignored me/my family trying to place a take out order for so long - we thought about getting Taco Bell instead. Terrible service.
At their food truck during the winter Corydon extravaganza, food was cold.
Today - their "handmade" guacamole is clearly store bought (it's very obvious it's store brand if you have ever had ACTUAL handmade guacamole) and the steak in the burrito was ALL tendons. They're using Sabra brand mass produced guac. Ew. It's legitimately gross.
I keep trying to give them a chance, but this establishment continues to disappoint. I will never visit again and will encourage others to not give their business to such a poorly managed and corner cutting establishment.
Why do they ask the customer to spend $17 per meal on fast food quality?
If you want $5 guac from Rita's - just buy $2 premade guac at Walmart - it's the same thing.
I do not recommend visiting...
Read moreBeing from South Texas, we're used to authentic and DELICIOUS Mexican food. Well, sad to say that since we've been in KY, we've been nothing short of disappointed with every single Mexican restaurant we've tried. UNTIL TODAY! We decided to try Rita's for lunch. From the chips and salsa to the entrees and let's not forget the service, EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious and excellent service to boot! The food came out looking beautiful and it was evident that whoever cooked it takes pride in their food. I spoke to the manager on duty to rave about our experience and she let me know that she'd pass along the compliment to the head manager. The fact that our food and service was as excellent as it was during the absence of the "Big Boss" says it all right there! We highly recommend this restaurant to all who love and appreciate Mexican food! You definitely won't be disappointed and your taste buds will thank you! This is certainly gonna be our new date...
