You know, I never knew about this place when I lived in Indiana years ago. But when we visited Indiana a few months back, I asked my husband what it was. He didn't even know. But, recently when my daughter and her boyfriend and I all travelled across a few states, we decided to try this location. Absolutely a great idea! (If you're familiar with Freddie's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, you won't be disappointed.)
Culver's locations always seem to look postcard perfect, but their service, and especially the food!, was superior to most. I cannot attest to the inside 'atmosphere' as we went through the drive-thru, but the landscaping and overall cleanliness of the outside of the building was simply beautiful. Also, their drive-thru process is fantastic, because they give you a sticky note with a number on it when you pay at the window, and the drive-thru line has quite a few spots up ahead. You simply keep pulling up to the next space as the customers ahead of you drive off after their food has been brought to them. Very thorough, pretty quick, and all the servers were super friendly!
My daughter got the chili and let me taste it -- wow! They give you a little bag of shredded cheese, sour cream, onions, crackers, my goodness! Was it amazing! Her boyfriend got a butterburger and fries, thinking it was going to be a usual size meal, but that burger was enormous! I just got a 'cooler' which was some fruit slushed up with lemonade, and the pop of tastiness and freshness was perfect for summer! If you don't like such a heavy tartness of lemonade, get the 'smoothie' -- it's the same thing, but with custard, and I tasted one of those, too. That was smooth and much lighter on the lemonade. I think it was a mango one - very good! I didn't take any pictures, which is rather tragic, because you should have seen that chili and the size...
Read moreWe are here right now. Food is good, and larger portion sizes on basket sides than other locations. Love the huge parking lot, wish more locations had parking scaled to the popularity of the location.
Now for the negative. The young man taking orders was either rude or hard of hearing, not sure which. He pretended/did not to hear everyone in our party say "basket" and repeatedly asked "wpuld you like fries amd a drink with tbaf?" He somehow deleted our oldest child's order, despite reading it back to her and placing a cup on the counter for her. We caught it, but he acted like it was never placed.
The only large table was dirty, and when the dining person "cleaned" it was no more than a cursory swipe. My teens removed the trash themselves and wiped the seat of visible debris.
I dont ask for much, but basic cleaning and bare minimum attention to guests are two things I do look for. We will be back, as we are house hunting in the area and it's the best food available for quick serve. Hopefully our next visit...
Read moreOne of the best, if not the best, fast food in Corydon. Culver's has good quality food that costs slightly more than your typical fast food restaurant, but it's worth it. The food is always hot, and there are a variety of options, from burgers to salads. Their specialty frozen custard is also good.
More importantly, service is excellent. Staff is friendly and food is served quickly. If your order comes out with an error, simply alert the staff and they will fix it (I've had to do this a few times over the years; they never act annoyed or doubtful). The place is always very clean and usually packed with locals. That said, lines move fast and you will be served quickly.
Outside seating here is also quite nice. In the summer, this Culver's hosts a few vintage car shows if you're into that.
Also, this building was recently remodeled, and looks better than ever.
If memory serves me right, a few years ago this Culver's was chosen as a top-4 Culver's in the nation by...
