Yesterday my family and I went to rulli's on 17 like we have done for the past twenty-something years every Halloween. It's been quite the tradition for my kids and now my grandkids to go trick or treating and going to rullis afterword for some Italian. It was 9:00 at night when we were wrapping things up and everything was fine really. The food was great and the service was a bit slow. Not too big of a deal, we asked serverJosh for bread and oil 3 times but it wasn't really that big a deal for us we finally got the bread and oil. It wasn't till the end of the meal when we ask for boxes and a to-go souffle cup of olive oil for the bread. At that point he look down and started shaking his head and that confused me. I asked Josh, "is there a problem?"and he replied" yes now I have to change your bill because I have to charge you for the oil" and then stormed off. Minutes later he brought the bill and still no oil and had me run my credit card and at that point I said" you didn't charge me for the oil you never brought did you?" And then he stormed off in silence once again. He returns with a souffle cup full of yellow fluid without any of the seasonings and then ask me to run my credit card again for some reason. After the credit card, he said don't bother tipping me I don't want money from rude customers. And I said what are you possibly talking about and he went into some rant about being short-staffed. I just asked the man if he charged me for the oil he never brought. That's all! And this kid goes postal. Normally I would be sympathetic to a short staff situation. I worked in restaurants quite a bit in my youth but the thing is he only had one other table at the time, a party of two! As a matter of fact me and my daughters were wondering why the restaurant was so empty to begin with. There is no manager that I saw anywhere. I'm guessing that's why he was so emboldened to say whatever was on his mind. But there was a busboy that I believe witnessed the situation. I almost didn't come Halloween because I have already heard about the credit card double charge situation going on there and I didn't want any part of that. But a tradition is a tradition. I'm afraid we're going to have to start a new tradition starting next year because that kid just ruined our night and my grandkids had to ask me "what was wrong with that guy?" It's my sincere hope that you guys could turn this situation around and return to the good reputation rullis has enjoyed in the past. But until then when somebody mentions Rullis, I'll have a pretty interesting story to tell. Thank you for...
Read moreNot impressed. We’ve been quite a few times, the last time we vowed not to go back, and we haven’t for almost two years. I called three weeks prior (and 4 days before to confirm) to make a reservation for 15-20 people. They were super nice over the phone and said it wouldn’t be a problem. We arrived and no tables were set up, we had to move them ourselves while wait staff watched. We had multiple drinks, when it came to refills, only two kids were given a refill, then she just put down a pitcher of ice water for 12 people to share. We had to ask for plates, most of us had to share napkins (!!) and I had to share a fork with my kids. We brought a store bought cake in, (they saw us walk in with it), never did they offer plates (thankfully I brought my own paper plates). We had to ask for a spatula to cut it, then we had to walk into the kitchen to track someone down for forks! We have been there before as I mentioned, it was awful the last time we were there, we only made the reservation here simply because it is basically the only restaurant open on Sunday’s in the area before 3 or 4pm. The rest of the family in our party hadn’t been there before, and they won’t be returning. Really disappointing. If you want to go there for a casual pizza, sure go ahead. But if you are expecting good service and experience, don’t just walk,...
Read moreArrived in early afternoon; only one other customer there. Waiter slow and it took several minutes to just get drinks and menus. Long wait for food and waiter didn't bring salads at all before entrees arrived. Food was just warm. Shrimp and pasta dish with garlic had so much garlic it was nearly inedible and should have sent it back but didn't want to have to wait another 30 or 40 minutes for something else. Could not eat it, had practically half a jar of minced garlic in it. Like garlic but don't want a ton in a dish and that's all you see and taste! Waiter never came back to check on us for drink refills or to see if all was well. Husband had to go find him in kitchen! Waiter made excuses that it was his turn to fill the salad bar. Apologized for no salads and gave a small discount off bill but with the quality of service and food, it wasn't really any compensation, especially considering having to go find waiter, no one else was dining at all and you could hear several people in the back talking. Will not return. Probably best to just get a take out pizza but be prepared to wait since they're not in a hurry to...
