I hate to say that I was really disappointed with this experience. Though this wasn't my first visit, it was my first time utilizing the drive-in dining. I figured this is what made them famous, so it's gotta be great.
My order was taken promptly and the attendant was very pleasant over the speaker. Realizing ten minutes after my order was placed that I wanted fries instead of the default tator tots, I rang in to order again. This time the attendant wasn't so attentive. I asked if it was too late to change my choice of potato, to which he replied no, it was possible to accommodate. Because he hesitated, I explained that if the order had alway been prepared, I could just order an additional side of fries. He changed his tune and said ok. I'm going to have to put it on a separate ticket. This was disappointing, but understandable, since the food should have been on its way out. So he charged me for a small fry and I waited.
I don't know what made me check, but I looked at the clock. Twenty minutes had already passed. And I didn't have my order. After another five minutes, I began to get annoyed. But, as I reached for the order button, feet could be seen approaching my vehicle. A young man appeared around the menu board with a small bag. He handed it to me and disappeared behind the menu board, never mentoring when I would receive the remainder of my order which should have come first. I opened the bag to find my French fries, the container half- filled, and the fries cold. They didn't even have the warmth of sitting under a heat lamp.
Two minutes later the same server rounds the corner with a tray of bags. I figured the tray would sit in my car window and I could take the food and beverages off at my convenience. Instead, the server passes me each bag, along with the drinks, says thank you, and walks away. So much for the feel of a Drive in.
I open my bags and pull out my son's chicken tender dinner box. The fries were his; I was going to keep the tots. The chicken tenders were lukewarm, looking more like chicken thumbs. They were short, very flat, and not worth the money paid for then. The tots were stale and cold, similar to the fries. My mozzarella sticks and jalapeno peppers weren't warm enough to have the cheese stretch or or ooze. It just sat. My Chicago dog was the closest I got to warmth and even it was lacking.
The entire experience could have gone in the trash like half of the food. I would have asked for a manager, but I'd already waited for service 35 minutes. Sonic got all of the time (and money) it will ever get...
Read moreI have had the unfortunate experience of visiting this particular Sonic location multiple times as a DoorDasher, and I must say that the customer service here is absolutely horrendous. It is with great disappointment that I share my consistent negative encounters with this establishment.
First and foremost, upon entering the premises, there is a complete lack of proper greeting or acknowledgment from the staff. I understand that fast-food establishments can be busy, but a simple smile or a polite "hello" can go a long way in making customers feel valued. Unfortunately, the employees at this Sonic location seem disinterested and apathetic towards their customers.
Furthermore, the level of disorganization I have witnessed on every visit is truly astonishing. It seems that chaos reigns supreme behind the scenes, as there is always an air of confusion among the staff. Orders are often mixed up, items are missing, and it takes an unnecessarily long time for them to rectify their mistakes. This not only wastes the time of customers like myself but also reflects a lack of professionalism and attention to detail on the part of the employees.
As a DoorDasher, I rely on efficient and timely service to fulfill my deliveries promptly. However, this Sonic location consistently fails to deliver on these basic expectations. I have experienced countless instances where I had to wait excessively long for my order to be prepared, resulting in delayed deliveries and frustrated customers.
Overall, I find it extremely disappointing that this Sonic location has such poor customer service. From the lack of basic greetings to the disorganized chaos within the establishment, it is clear that the staff here needs significant improvement. As a DoorDasher, I expect better service from the establishments I frequent, and unfortunately, this particular Sonic location falls far short of meeting those expectations.
I strongly advise potential customers and fellow DoorDashers to consider other options and avoid this Sonic location until they address their glaring customer...
Read moreNormally I love Sonic. Their ice cream and slushes are fantastic and I love the corn dogs. However, tonight they missed the mark. My daughter and husband both got Blasts. Their ice cream had a slightly grainy texture as though it had been incorrectly frozen and formed tiny ice crystals in the ice cream. I decided to try the new custard called concrete. I had the Frozen Banana Concrete with Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. If you are looking for a Culver's style custard, this isn't it. At first, it was pretty good with lots of crushed Reese's Peanut Butter Cups on top; as I dug deeper into the custard I discovered chunks of real banana which was a nice surprise. However, as I continued to dig deeper on one side of the cup (I usually eat these in several sittings, digging to the bottom of one side of the cup and putting the rest away for another day or two). The custard has a very thick pasty texture which doesn't feel like it is melting in your mouth. It tastes more like mashed banana than custard style ice cream. Although it looks like a pasty ice cream. I hope the vanilla and chocolate are not like this, maybe it's just the banana although I'm not sure I want to pay to find out. It took several minutes to take the pics and as you can see, it isn't really melting off the spoon like regular ice cream. I called and spoke to tonight's manager who was very nice and explained that the "custards" are a mixture of their ice cream, flavoring- in this case real bananas, and "custard powder". It's not real ice cream custard at all. Mine seemed to have too much custard powder, at least for my taste. The manager offered to replace it with something else even if I want to come in tomorrow. That's why I gave them 4 stars instead of 3. He also explained that with the fluctuations in our weather, the temperature on the ice cream machine has to be adjusted. The grainy texture in the ice cream means the machine isn't set at the proper temperature. He promised to...
