I will preface this with, this was me giving this place a second chance after 5+ years. I used to love it here when i was younger, and we had one very bad experience that had caused me to vow to never return. That time, we went the day after valentines day. Our food came before our soup and salads, and literally everything, even the bread and baked potato were charcoal burnt.. i chalked that up to post holiday burn out for the staff and was just not going to risk throwing money away there again because at that time in our lives, $50+ per person for one meal was a huge luxury, and i didn't want to risk wasting it like that again.

So, this visit was not near a major holiday, and the place wasn't overly busy. Here's our take on it this time. The prime rib portion was a bit giant for us. Had we known how big it actually was(portion sizes were not specified for most of the steaks), we probably would have split it. To be honest, for the size of the steak, it really ought to have a larger plate to accommodate actually cutting and eating the meat. It was admittedly some of the best prime rib I've ever had. Unfortunately, as good as it was freshly prepared, leftovers kept very poorly. Reheated slowly the next day, it tasted like pot roast. The french onion soup was incredibly salty, and the aus jus shared a remarkable similarity to said soup. Bread and other sides were just kinda meh. The environment doesn't exactly lend itself to a quiet/private romantic experience in my opinion. I seem to remember a different ambiance from when i went here when i was much younger.. but maybe something changed.. or my standards.. who knows.. the smaller area right in front of the hostess area looks a little quieter with better lighting.. so that could be it.

The experience was definitely better than the last one I had years ago when i vowed i would never return. However, we did go through 6 menus before we gave up on them giving us some without sticky food/fingerprints all over them (those pictured are the two we settled on accepting and moved on from) and the food aside from the steak was simply lacking.. Despite the amazing prime rib, I did find myself regretting not going elsewhere on our evening out without the kids (which rarely happens for us-- both a kid free night, and...

We were celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary and chose to give a new restaurant a try. When we arrived it took 15 minutes to be seated even with a reservation. Then it took another 15 minutes to get a drink which were brought to us in styrofoam cups (at no time during our time here were they swapped out with their glass cups everyone else had.) We ordered our appetizers when we ordered the drinks and it took 30 minutes for those to arrive, 20 minutes in we had to ask another waiter for bread since none was brought. When our appetizers came the lobst Our dining experience left much to be desired. When our appetizers arrived, the lobster voodoo was undercooked and mushy, though the shrimp was quite delicious. Unfortunately, our main courses, a steak and prime rib, took an additional 45 minutes, if not an hour, to reach our table. Both were served cold, with the fat on the side even colder, as if it had been taken directly from the fridge. The single bite I managed to take was disappointingly bland, and it appeared as if the steak had been boiled rather than grilled.

Our dissatisfaction led us to inform the waitress, and we promptly requested our check, returning the food. We did appreciate that we were not charged for the dishes we had eaten, and we would have gladly paid for them and left a tip despite the subpar service. She came back and simply said “You can go” no apologies or anything. Nevertheless, this experience fell well below our expectations.

Throughout the two hours we spent at the restaurant, our waitress only came to our table a total of five times, and each interaction felt rushed. In stark contrast, the surrounding tables seemed to be receiving more attentive service. Guests who arrived after us were served their steaks promptly, accompanied by proper drink refills and the enthusiasm one would expect from a steakhouse.

We had initially looked forward to trying a new restaurant but left feeling highly disappointed. We couldn't help but think we would have had a more satisfying dining experience at our regular spot,...

On September 28th 2019 I made reservations for 4 of to take my wife to dinner there for her birthday. The waitress was amazing. My wife and I ordered the sirloin for 2 as did the other couple. I ordered mine medium rare and my wife ordered hers medium well. When we got our steaks mine was perfect. My wife’s was medium rare also. So she had it sent back. The other couple had to send one of their steaks back also because it was under cooked. When my wife got her steak back it was still too rare. So she sent it back for a 3rd time. By this time the rest of us were eating our dinners so ours wouldn’t get cold. My wife got the steak back for the 3rd time and it was still too rare and even cold. By this time she’s lost her appetite and the rest of us were almost done eating our dinners. The waitress recommended maybe trying another steak. My wife was hesitant since she lost her appetite but agreed to try the bone in ribeye. The ribeye was cooked good. The waitress kept apologizing. When we received the bill they took half off the sirloin for 2 but charged us for the ribeye which made our dinner more expensive. We asked to speak to the manager. When she came to our table she never identified herself and said that they will not just give us a free steak and all she could do was just add on the other half of the sirloin for 2 and take off the ribeye. My wife explained to her that she didn’t even eat her dinner other than a bite of the steak and part of her baked potato. The manager never apologized. Bynums is normally a great place to eat and we never had issues before until last night. It’s a shame that all of that happened for my wife’s birthday. It would have been nice if the manager would have identified herself or even apologized for all the problems my wife had with her steak or offered something to make up for all of it. Instead she seemed like she didn’t care too much about all of the issues my wife had with her steak. Normally Bynums is a great...

First time visiting this place and I was blown away. The bread they brought to the table was fresh, warm, and pleasant to chew! The servers worked together to ensure that not only is your drink consistently filled but also will bring out food for one another. The hostess even helped refill waters at multiple tables when she didn’t have new guests coming in! Appetizer wise we started with the shrimp cocktail and it did not disappoint. The cocktail sauce had a nice nasal kick to it (not as strong or as enjoyable as St Elmo’s, but definitely gave it some competition) I ordered the 32 oz Tomahawk with a loaded baked potato. Normally I enjoy my steaks medium but this time around I went with Medium rare. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender as all get out! A nice pink outer layer with a warm red center. It was easy to chew and the seasoning was great even without their added steak topping options. The loaded baked potato was a healthy size and they did not shy away from the cheese or bacon bits. I did not try the soup or the salad but my girl loved them both. People were dressed casually and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. I was expecting everybody to be dressed up and the place to be overly refined but it was a casual atmosphere which I enjoyed. A manager took the time to ask us how our meal was going and genuinely cared about our experience. The bill for two adults with appetizer, two main courses and multiple alcoholic beverages and tip totaled $230. Overall this trip was a 5/5 for me, From the teamwork and prompt service displayed by their staff to the amazing food and atmosphere, everything was sublime. I will definitely be returning and Bynum’s has earned a life long fan. I look forward to my next visit. Thank you Bynum’s for providing us with a wonderful birthday dinner to celebrate my girlfriends special day.

When I was a kid we used to go to a local steakhouse for special occasions. That place is long gone but bynum’s is what it would be if it was still around. We went for the first time on Sunday. We made reservations but we were early enough that they weren’t needed. The restaurant itself does have an old fashioned feel- as I mentioned earlier it reminded me of the steakhouses growing up- dark wood and carpets, which some people may not appreciate as much as a more modern look- but for me it was appropriate to the fare. Our server and her trainee were fantastic. They brought out our food quickly and were both very kind. They also refilled our drinks and got us to go drinks. As for the food. We started off with their version of a bloomin onion. It was fantastic and tasted like the ones from that “other” steakhouse used to taste. I definitely recommend. For the meal we got the prime rib. It was massively huge- enough for two people to share and have more than a pound left to take home. All of the meals also come with soup, salad and bread. I got the onion soup, which was very good. Not quite as good as the Rathskellers used to be but still good. They make their own blue cheese which made the salad good as well We also got dessert, which was a nice end to the meal. I got the peanut butter pie, which has a fantastic crust. I cannot recall what my partner got but it was also good. . For those wondering about the price- the prime rib is market price but it is extremely fair for what you get. For two people with one alcoholic drink, the appetizer, and two desserts, our total was $135 before tip. That a fantastic deal for a good steak.
