UPDATE... Spoke with the manager who called me the very same day of that first review. He told me that he had been there about three or four months at the time, which is exactly when we started to notice a lack of service and quality. He said he would send out some coupons or something to our home but he also failed to do that. My wife was back in there last week or so. It appeared that the case was the same or worse with cheese/other that is falling down from the top on it. We're still leaving this review a 1 only because I can't remove it...
Just left MCL on East Street extremely disappointed... Went to have chicken... no chicken today though it was still on the menu. At 1:00 pm you wouldn't think you would be out of a staple, and if you were you'd notify your help and patrons... Noticed lately that their catfish also has deteriorated in quality to "strips"... you can barely find a sliver of catfish in all of the breading anymore. Took a picture of the pie cabinet with cheese, butter packs and unidentifed others on the pumpkin pie... Very sad to see after 26 years of enjoyment in this town for us, hate to see it come to an end like this... Employe was apologetic l, not her fault at all. Manager seemed unapologetic and bothered by the entire event of having to provide our refund. Up until the last few months this would have been 5-star rating... I leave as a 1-star rating in hopes of some notice and change by the UPPER...
Read moreI can't lie I was a bit displeased with yesterday's visit. So I came in to order a kid meal. I was informed by one of the employees if I purchased an entree the kid meal would be free. So I agreed and age automatically put both meals into to go containers. Then the same lady that made the suggestion states I'llthat she forgot it has to be dine in...I go okay I'll done in. I then move in to pay the cashier and the cashier states the total will be $11. I then explain what the other young lady told me about it being free. The manager approaches and says this deal is for dine in and your meals are in Togo containers. I state oh yes but I'm eating here. The young lady put them in Togo containers I didn't necessarily ask did the Togo containers. She then goes the child needs to be physically present with you. I respect all of these policies but all employees should be on one Accord. All of that should have been taken into consideration before making the offer to me. I was super embarrassed and just told the cashier to take off the entree. I believe in paying my way but if I were the manager I would have made the exception considering my staff made a mistake. Read moreHome style cooking, in what I can only describe as school cafeteria serving. One picks a tray, and slides it down and around the hot meals counters to choose a dish, sides, and/or dessert. The food is conservatively seasoned, in my opinion. While I can't say it's the most FLAVORFUL food, it's well cooked. Dessert parties are delicious, and baked on site. In fact, I believe most items ARE cooked from scratch; they taste that way. I would like to add that this restrained seasoning really agrees with sensitive stomachs. The staff who waits on you after you've taken seat is very pleasant, and yet not clingy.
