I am normally not that guy that leaves a bad review. But after my experience at Mr Dan's today and as a business owner myself what I just experienced is totally unacceptable and if this causes them to lose business then hopefully they will learn their lesson. I went to the store and I ordered chicken and waffles and a Waffle Hoss which I had in the past and I will tell you is actually pretty good. But I didn't check my order before I left the young man that took my order made sure that I had syrup and jam in my bag so I assumed that my order was correct. Only to find out once I returned home to eat my food that I had totally received the wrong order now it is almost closing time for them and I am hungry so I decided to eat it. Chicken wings and french fries which I did not want was not what I was wanting for this evening and I figured that I still had my sandwich which was the reason why I went there in the first place. Only to open that up and find that it is just a cheeseburger so now I am mad but still trying to be sensible I packed up my bags and return to the store where the owner told me because I ate the food he couldn't do anything with it had I not eaten the food he could have done something with it and I wanted to clarify that he would actually sell this food to someone else after it has left the building and went back to my house not knowing what I would have or could have done to it and his reply was this is mine and I can do what I want. Then he proceeded to offer me another sandwich like this was my fault and asked me what did I want him to do about it I told him I didn't want anything and I left the store. I'm not one of those people that thinks customer should be always right. But if you want return business a little bit understanding of inconvenience goes a long way. And to think that giving that food to someone else actually turned my stomach I will not be returning to this establishment because I am not going to take a chance on getting someone else's food after it's been returned back to the restaurant if you do I will tell you do it at your own risk because the owner told me directly it is his and he can do...
Read moreBeen twice now, 1st experience w/ a burger & fries was great. 2nd time I got two “Chicago dogs” that were terrible. They shouldn’t even call them that, because they aren’t. Chicago dogs have six standard ingredients, & if you deviate from those you get something different. Mr. Dan’s chose to use the nastiest pickles, like BK uses, in place of a dill spear. Instead of sport peppers you get banana peppers & that’s not even close to the same. I got home after dropping $13.00 plus tip for these, opened the bag, and was crushed. Chicago dogs are not common in Indy, so I was looking forward to a nice treat. Instead of that I was taught a lesson in false advertising. Go to the Wiki page to learn how to make it correctly. Until then, this place has no business with this on their menu. I’ll be back for the burgers, but I’m not real happy wasting so much...
Read moreNeeds more guest seating, but I’m sure it’s coming. Food is amazing, I ordered for 4. It was nostalgic bringing my children to Mr. Dan’s for breakfast as my mother used to bring me. It doesn’t have the old skool vibe yet but I look forward to it once they’re settled in and done training. Staff was very accommodating, being that I’m pregnant and a lot of seating wasn’t available during my visit (there were other customers, then myself and my children) I was told that I could wait in my vehicle and someone would bring my order out to me, and they did. Checked and double checked it. I was greeted when I walked in. I was picky but they were patient. I didn’t wait long. Not too expensive and the...
