EL Azabache Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Indianapolis

Me and my boyfriend wanted to try something new so we came here because we seen the place online and it looked good. To start we walk in and get seated wait 10 minutes for a server. And he finally comes and ask what can I get too drink for you we told him are drinks. And then he brought us are drinks and then asked what can I get for you and we were not sure yet we have . It finally charged been here and we said we’rnot sure yet and then he asked again what can I get for you guys and stood over us I finally ordered and it took my boyfriend some time he didn’t know what he wanted yet. And he asked what can I get for you. We asked for more time and he did not give us any and rushed us. So then my boyfriend put his order in and then we waited for about 16 min for our food we eat a little of it wasn’t the best. So we decided to take the rest home. And then we ask for to go boxes and it takes him awhile too get them we wasn’t complaining we understand he was doing things we finally got them so we packed up and headed too pay and we payed and the girl at the checkout threw the receipt at me and it feel on the floor my boyfriend picked it up and we were like this service here is horrible. So a few hours go by and the charge for the food wasn’t on my card yet it finally charged my card at 3:03 am and the charged me more then they should of. So I call the next morning and she was like come up here and talk to the manager so I did and I get in there and she is like I’m sorry he added extra money on what you owe his name is Jose. Jose stole money from me and said it’s okay and laughed in my face and was laughing with the manager and workers like it’s Ok too steal money off of my card. I asked for a refund and my money he stole. They said can’t do refund but we give you your money back that he stole. I took it but too laugh in my face and think it’s okay too take money I never authorized is ridiculous. This place is horrible. And Jose karma is real and please be careful there because too them if they don’t get caught it’s okay. I’m glad I always keep my receipts and check on...

I have been here once before and expected a decent experience. Unfortunately, this was the worst Mexican experience I ever had. We waited approximately 30 minutes just to get a waiter which was ok for us because they were busy. We ordered food and appetizer at the same time. After another 20 minutes we inquired about the drinks and appetizer again...they then brought out drinks and the wrong order. We corrected it and waited on the right order. All of this was ok with me, it was the treatment after these mishaps that bothered me. Once the food came out there was hair in it.... at this point we informed the owner who "took note' of our concern and then disappeared.,,,,, someone snatched our food up (with the hair) and eventually brought out a check (granted it was discounted I wont take that away from them!) ..... yet no more interaction with owner/manager nothing .... so we inquired where the owner was and then we were told he didn't exist..... at this point I'm a bit disgusted ...we have been in the restaurant for two hours with sub-par service .. I ask the waiter about the owner I spoke to again and he tells me again I must be mistaken....at this point I just say ok I know where not to come back to and he responds very rudely that I can just go somewhere else as if I had done something to him... never acknowledged the hair in my food ... he picks up my 35% tip to him and leaves........... It's very sad .... we were the only AA duo in the room and it appears it was automatically assumed we wanted something free .... but that's just not case .... we received horrible service .... .hair in our food .... bad treatment from our waiter ....... we just wanted to be treated fairly based on those factors... that just didn't happen ... im highly disappointed ... and must make a call to the health department since not one employee including the manager and potential owner on duty would address my concerns regarding the...

I went to this place because of the reviews here, but I'm not sure these people are describing the same place.

3 friends and myself went in for dinner and ordered as normal. The waitress politely nodded and confirmed options (such as steak or chicken) for our orders as we told her what we wanted. The wait time was not any longer than expected, but things took a turn for the worst at this point. One of my friends' orders had a KETCHUP PACKET sitting in the middle of his dish, embedded in the sour cream. When we asked the waitress what was going on, she says, "Oh, that's for spreading on your meal." Seriously? Then we watch as another of my friends does not receive a meal at all. So we wait until the waitress comes back, and ask if her food is coming. She tells us that it is on its way. Apparently on its way means after another 15-20 minutes, at which point we assume they had forgotten my friends meal and were now cooking it. My friend finally receives her meal, only to find out that it is not at all what had been ordered.

Aside from my friends' troubles, I found the food to be bland. There are much better, much cheaper Mexican restaurants out there. This was the first time I have ever not left a tip for a serving person, and I am...
