The Coffman ReviewThe Coffman Review
My wife and I recently found them on social media. We were already familiar with the cultural center and had it on our list of places to visit, as they have other vendors that occupy the space at other times (like Ardys Concession). We arrived later than we had hoped but Grace assured us they would stay to serve us, which was incredibly kind. 🙏 We got to meet the entire McGee family, with Jeremy back-of-house, Grace front-of-house, and their daughter serving. Grace explained that “salo-salo” means “sharing” and “eating together”, and is the traditional concept of gathering to eat and celebrate together in Filipino culture. Awesome! She also characterized their menu as “fusion”, not traditional, in that they weave Filipino ingredients into dishes of their own design. This sets them apart from many other Filipino restaurants in town. Gabby was our server and took great care of us. Grace gave us a tour of the menu and helped us land on: 🍠 Ube Pan Pulled Pork 🐄 Beef Empanada 🐖 Pork Belly Empanada 🍠 Ube Waffle (on special) 🥭 Mango Cake Slice If you’re not familiar with Filipino cuisine, ube is a purple yam native to the Philippines. It has a very light, vanilla-like taste; though its bright purple hue can fool you into thinking it’s more prominent than it actually is. If you like regular waffles you will still like an ube waffle. 🧇 Our food was both beautiful and delicious. The pop of purple was magnificent. The empanadas were hot and flaky, with gravy and a vinegar dressing for dipping. The barbecue was sweet and smoky, and the waffle was like a buttery dessert. We took a couple sweets to go and our kids demolished them. Definitely check them out!

I ordered a pickup order for my son's wedding October 25th to his Phillipines fiancé. All I can state is everyone was commenting on the food and how good it is. I highly recommend them for your dinning experience or your next event or gathering. Thank you also for gifting us with a complimentary cake. To bad I didnt get a slice of it.

HIGHLY recommend. Our food was so good. The service was great. The Ube BBQ sandwich is amazing and I really like the fries! We will be back soon for sure. Nice to find a good spot close to home.
