Fountain Square Brewery – A Hidden Gem with a Heartbeat
First time visiting Fountain Square Brewery, and we were drawn in by comedy night — with free entry! We found them on eventbrite. Honestly, how many breweries host live comedy? Major respect to the amateur comedians who got up there and shared their work with a room full of strangers. It takes guts, and we loved the supportive atmosphere.
We were delighted to find out this brewery hosts different events every week — not just comedy! It really shows their commitment to supporting local talent and keeping things fresh for the community.
The beer prices were another surprise — two drinks for under $12 in this day and age? Practically unheard of. On top of that, the craft beer selection was top-tier, with a variety of styles to suit every taste. I appreciated that they also had cider on draft from another Indiana brewer — a nice touch that shows they support other locals too

The real stars of the night? The owners, who were the ones working behind the counter. They were incredibly friendly and welcoming — we had such a great chat with them. You could feel their passion for the space and the community. This spot is one of the original breweries in Indianapolis, and it’s clear the new owners have worked hard to breathe life back into it. There’s local art on the walls, free popcorn, pinball machines, and a stage for live events. We learned they try to bring in a local band every Friday, and even host unique events like a psychic party featuring mediums and spiritual readers. I mean, how many other places offer that kind of variety?
The vibe was chill, welcoming, and genuinely fun. It’s the kind of place that works for a date night, a night out with friends, or just dropping by solo. Best part? It’s in a walkable area, so you can grab food nearby and bring it back to the bar while you enjoy your drink. Fountain Square Brewery isn’t just a bar — it’s a community hub. We’ll...
Read moreWent today to get the posted special listed under the News section on the website for $5.50. When I went in the first time, was charged $6.00. I notified dismissively that they would let the web designer know. I went home thinking that I was wrong and paid the $6.00. When I got home, I checked again, saw I was right, printed the page and took back the the brewery and wanted the price posted to be honored. Was informed that this was impossible and that it was my responsibility, after providing proof of their error, that I needed to speak to a manager. There was no manager available and was sent on my way. In the future, it might be proactive to take a customer's name and number and have the manager take the responsibility of the customer service of the business they run rather then making a business's customers responsible for...
