I made my reservation at this hotel on September 25, 2018. At that time I was advised I would have to call when I got close so that someone could meet me at the hotel to let us in. I advised that I would be arriving approximately 7:00 p.m. on September 30. On September 30 I was running late and I called the Fountain View in at 6:49 p.m. No one answered. I left a message and advised them that I would not be there until 7:45 p.m. and that I would like to call back. I called again at 7:28 p.m. and left a message that I would be there at 7:45 P.M. and that I would like to meet someone there and for a call back. I did not receive a call back and proceeded to park and go to dinner. I finally received a call at 8:10 p.m. advising that they could let us in to the hotel. By that time I was the middle of dinner. I was not able to get up and leave dinner because they could not make arrangements to let me in to the hotel in a timely manner. I ended up having to make arrangements at another hotel and stayed at the Alexander in downtown Indianapolis that evening. The owner/manager tried to blame me and charged me...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a place that offers all of the typical hotel amenities, this might not be the best choice for you. Where fountain view lacks in some areas, it makes up in others. The location is fantastic. There are many great shops and restaurants nearby. The duckpin bowling and bar are really neat and fun. Our basic room had so much character and charm. It was impeccably clean but without the sterile room feeling some hotels have. We had a mini kitchen, sitting room, bathroom with a jet tub, and bedroom with a queen bed. I can’t say the mattress was particularly comfortable, unfortunately. I think it should come without saying, but the hotel is in an area with a vibrant night life. The hotel has a bowling alley. If you are a light sleeper, bring a sound machine and ear plugs. I honestly do not think they could take any other action to reduce the noise but it’s obvious they have done as much as possible. You will hear the bowling and conversations from the street. We will certainly...
Read more“A little wild” neighborhood… in managers own words. The cost did NOT come close to meet our expectations of staying in a fun, retro, safe urban neighborhood. A rage happening with crazy loud music starting at 1:30 am, lasting an hour or more…On a Thursday night. No sleep after THAT. |The place has lots of promise… just don’t expect a quiet’s night sleep or any building security OR satisfaction from owner for any consideration of a wasted nights stay. Was given a $50 refund off an invoice total of $497 for two nights stay. This was their reply to my extreme concerns…|“ I'm sorry, I was not in the day you checked out. I know it can get a little wild but that was out of hand. I will speak with our owner to see if there can be anything put in place to curb that kind of rowdiness. Thank you for the video, I appreciate it. Again, my apologies for their bad behavior. I'm hoping the windows can get some kind of better insulation for...
