Golden Wok — Restaurant in Indianapolis

We ordered carry out last night and we were very disappointed. We usually order from China Garden in Southern Plaza, but we decided to try this one and I wish we hadn't. The staff was friendly, but the food was awful. We ordered the General Tsos and Orange Chicken, Veggie Lo Mein, Veggie Egg Rolls and Crab Rangoons.

The chicken dishes were not the traditional dishes one would expect, they were the chicken that comes with Sweet and Sour Chicken tossed in sauce.

The Rangoons were cold and soggy, as were the Egg Rolls. The Egg Rolls literally mushed in your mouth, no crispness at all.

The Lo Mein were noodles with Broccoli and some sauce. Very bland. No baby corn or water chestnuts...just broccoli.

The worst take out experience I've ever had. I ordered the bourbon chicken with white rice and a chicken skewer. The edge of every slice of bourbon chicken was so tough it was hard to consume. The white rice was even dry and that never happens. I went in at 4pm on a Monday but I called before I went and asked if everything would be made fresh after I ordered it and he said yes. That man lied and knew the food had been sitting since it was slow at that time. I’ve been here twice with my wife and my 9 month old, and both times the lady behind the counter provided excellent customer service. She was extremely friendly to me and my family, the food is amazing too. We’ve had the bourbon chicken, Mongolian beef, teriyaki chicken, and the general tsos chicken. All of which tasted great and the lady was even kind enough to give an extra fortune cookie for my son both times.
