Parlor Doughnuts — Restaurant in Indianapolis

Well…. I’m not big on donuts but i brought my kids for donuts and I would have breakfast. I’m gluten free by choice normally so I always review a menu etc before going out to see options for me. Here’s how it went. Donuts: straight bangers…my kids got a campfire and a cookies and cream. These were amazing, flaky, everything you want in a modern stylized donut. Atmosphere: I like the decor and interior, good music, all that’s great.

We came early Saturday morning, drive thru still not open here, 5 ppl in line in front of us so no big deal, 5 min in line tops…multiple families w kids. I wanted a breakfast sandwich on a donut. The online menu said they had gluten free option for that, when I asked for it the worker said they didn’t have it so I went with the breakfast tacos. We sat, my kids ate their donuts while I waited. I noticed a large swath of other parents who apparently ordered real food for breakfast much like me waiting around……. The breakfast cook or deliver person kept coming to the counter and “called out” so quietly that we had to go look everytime at the name. My breakfast tacos took 15 minutes on the dot to be made…..to me if I’m you’re slinging breakfast in a donut shop it should be timely or just have donuts. Since my kids had long finished and cleaned up I had to smash my tacos to avoid them getting restless. I watched about 3 other famiiies essentially experience the same thing. The tacos were mid…no salt available as far as I could see and none used in the kitchen.

For me the overall here was great donuts but not happy with the service / speed / menu knowledge of the workers. If I know more about a menu than a worker or can’t get what I came for because someone is unaware it’s an L in my opinion. I’ll probably come back but won’t have breakfast…for me that limits how often...

TERRIBLE SERVICE! We placed an online order and said it would be done in 7 minutes when we ordered. We got there 11 minutes after we ordered and it still wasn't done. We then had to wait another 40 minutes for 3 freaking donuts! It is 10:30am on a Sunday there there was literally no one in here other than the 3 staff members. This was utterly ridiculous. I will NEVER be returning to this location. They need to get some better / more staff members. Not to mention the fact the store had no music playing so it was deathly silent in here and it just added negativity to the whole atmosphere especially with how the staff didn't want to be there.

Staff was also giving people unrealistic wait times on orders people were placing after us. Saying donuts would be ready in 10 minutes which is a total lie.

This made for a terrible start to our morning and forcing our 2 year old to wait well beyond a reasonable time for a freaking...

So not sure if this is just a bad day where all collided to suck but if the management doesnt have a better plan of action, this place will not last long. We all know Sundays are a busy day for doughnuts. If you order in place it's expected you should have to wait but: You have barely any staff on site The staff of site lack the energy, customer service skills and organization to keep the place running.

Doughnut display was empty, the staff has no idea of how long it will take if you place an order and you have a line of 20 people and a bunch of online orders to fill.

Zero plan, zero signs, zero interest of the staff to get through it.

I love these doughnuts and hope they stay open. But people will get tired and not come back.
