Puerto Vallarta Restaurant — Restaurant in Indianapolis

I've debated with myself for a few days on whether to leave this awful review. I've never had to leave such an awful review.... And I've never had to leave a restaurant before either.

We walked in and the place was pretty busy, which is to be expected for a Friday night. We were seated and given chips and salsa and our drink orders were taken.

We wait another few minutes and our order is taken. That's the last time we saw a waiter, aside from the one who would walk by our tables and strum it with his knuckles every time he walked by. Yup, he never even checked on us to see if we needed a drink refill or more chips. Just beat on our table everytime he walked by which was obnoxious and rude.

Then finally after over an hour of waiting we were served our dinner. We ordered a chimicanga, enchilada and a tamale. Why did these items take over an hour to make and serve?

We asked for To go boxes because we waited so long and we had to leave.

What I assume was the owner gave us a $3 discount on our bill of $20. Thanks. My whole hour from my evening spent in your restaurant not being fed was worth $3 discount?

They are lucky we did not walk out not being served for over an hour. Just because we walked into your restaurant doesn't mean we are obligated to stay when it takes over an hour to be served our food without ANYONE offering more chips or drink refills.

I will not set foot back into this restaurant until they begin to appreciate their customers.

So, this is your typical Americanized Mexican restaurant, but I don't care! I love it! The employees are fantastic, very on top of things. I love the cool "carved" tables & chairs. It's bright, it's fun, it's almost always busy, and if it's your birthday, expect to get serenaded with a gigantic sombrero on your head.

My personal favorite is the Polo Fundido. Get a side of rice, add some to the plate, top it with some salsa, and eat with chips. Mmmmmm!

Drinks are definitely "holiday pours", so if you don't like your alcohol to taste like alcohol, let them know before your drink is made.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is(in my experience) because when I've called in a pickup order they say it will be ready in 10 minutes (I've never had them say any other time) and then when I've gotten there - after a 10 minute drive I inevitably have to wait another 10 minutes or so. I would say that happens about 75%...

I give ZERO ZERO stars, this restaurant is horrible. The staff especially the manager is very rude. I complained about a rodent that was visible on the floor and I was dismissed. No I’m sorry or anything. I also left my jacket at the restaurant called them the next day, they assured me it was there and safe when I returned this week and when I came to pick it up today it’s magically gone. The manager didn’t care has no empathy in the matter. Another staff member told me to read the sign that says they aren’t responsible for items left. I understand that, but when they assured me that it would be safe until my return today, I trusted them. I will NEVER spend my money here again and will tell everyone I know how horrible of a place it is and encourage them to eat at Tortas El Guero and even Taco Bell for that matter.
