One of the best roasters in country voted by coffee fans everywhere. I visited Quills Coffee on a quiet weekday morning around the time folks are going to work and met up with a friend there. I asked the barista his recommendations and his understanding and explanation of the coffee helped make my decision. It's nice to meet a barista who knows the coffee she/he is serving and can describe the coffee well enough so you, the guest, can make an informed decision. The coffee I had was clean, bright, sweet, and smooth--loved it.
The relaxed, chill ambiance and earthy, chic decor made the place conducive for quiet contemplation and pleasant conversation.
The only downside to going to Quills is finding parking. It's tuff to find a spot and if you don't find one close by then you end up parking a block...

The space is a combination parking garage, coffee shop, and apartment common area. Meeting rooms are all around but maybe only open to 9 on Canal residents. I had a simple 2% latte. The next time I go, I will...

Sterile atmosphere. Not very cozy. Incredible evening lighting though. Good furniture. Good, but underextracted, sour espresso, horrid steaming.
When you come in excitedly at an establishment that looks this bougie i definitely do not want an extra dry/ cloudy foamy mess that a Starbucks barista would make better. Would be nice if I was asked about getting a for-here cup as well, instead of rushing to mark to-go cups as we order. Unwelcoming and unfriendly baristas. If you want better coffee, GO TO COAT CHECK COFFEE 5 min down the street. Much...
