A Lifesaving Meal from the Heart â Thank You, Copper Pot
As a Search and Rescue volunteer, Iâve eaten on the go all week during a difficult recovery operation here in the Hill Country. But today, I experienced something that truly moved me.
I called The Copper Pot in Ingram just before they closed, asking if they were doing anything for rescue teams. Without hesitation, the OWNER on the phone said, âI got youâgive me 20 minutes.â I told him we had 31 people. He didnât flinch. No charge. No conditions. Just kindness.
When we arrived, the smell of the food hit us like a warm hugâcomforting, rich, homemadeâŚ(I want to thank the sweet couple whoâs lunch we interrupted for their kind and and generous gift)âŚ.
The Copper Pot loaded us up with delicious Reubens, beef and chicken enchiladas, cheeseburgers, fries all the fixings and the BEST charro beans Iâve ever had.
Back at our site, I stood quietly and watched our teamâtired, dirty, and sunburnedâlight up at the sight (and smell!) of real food made with love. I picked the beef enchiladas: WINNER!! As I looked around at this Small Army of Men Woman and Dogs that came from So Far Away to Our Little part of Texas to help! Well only in Texas Guys!
To The Copper PotâTHANK YOU!! Your act of generosity gave 31 weary rescuers a moment of joy, rest, and real nourishment. You reminded us why we do this, and who we do it for. God bless you.
To anyone reading this: take a drive to Ingram. This place isnât just a restaurantâitâs a community treasure. đ

Read moreWe arrived within an hour of closing, but the place was hoppin'! We waited to be seated because tables needed to be bussed and NO one was standing around. We were seated and drink orders were taken. There was no sense of being rushed even though it was close to closing time. I ordered eggs Benedict because is my favorite breakfast and I don't make Hollandaise sauce. Is was not disappointed. All of it was delish. It arrived with potatoes and mixed fruit. My husband had a much bigger breakfast which he gladly ate, except for about two bites of his pancakes. The pancakes were delish! Light and tasty. I never had to ask for a refill on my tea and our waiter even brought me a glass of ice! It's the little things y'all. Art is on the walls from local artists and they are for sale. Overall the atmosphere is farmhouse-esque. The women's bathroom is decorated vintage but not chintzy or cheesy. All in all a comfortable spot. Clearly a local favorite judging by the amount of people...
Read moreWe recently moved to the area and yesterday we enjoyed the Copper Pot for the first time. Parking was available in the back and on the side of the restaurant. Upon entering, we were greeted and quickly seated. Seating is available in the front room, the back room, and in an outside area. The entire restaurant is very welcoming with a rustic, eclectic charm. Local artists' paintings are hanging throughout and available for purchase. Besides a couple waters, I ordered a caramel latte and a half Turkey Apple Club sandwich with fries and a cup of Squash-Vegetable soup. My husband enjoyed the Reuben with fries. Everything was exquisite. And our server was attentive, helpful, and very pleasant, too. Thank you to everyone at the Copper Pot for a delightful lunch. We will surely add it to our list of restaurants to...
