We came on 02/21 at around 11:30 am. And the girl who took our order gave 5-star customer service! She informed us that the espresso machine lost pressure and could take 5 minutes to build up and usually when this happens there's a good chance that making any espresso-based drinks may taste burnt. I was willing to wait 5 minutes. And the drink did come out as burnt. I was kinda reluctant to say anything because it wasn't that bad, but my husband said I probably should. The girl was super nice about making me a new one I apologized and told her I don't like to complain. But she was happy to make me a new drink. Unfortunately, the second one came out a bit better but still underlined the burnt taste. So 3rd times a charm she offered to either add more sweetener or make me something else and I told her to just add more sweetener and it came out tasting better. She was super sweet about the whole situation! She is definitely someone who takes pride in her work and goes...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy own opinion... If you don't shop here very often, the coffee language can be overwhelming! I've been drinking coffee over 40 years and I've never felt so unqualified to place an order as I do on the rare occasion when I walk in to a Biggby! In support of the Ionia Michigan store... The cashier did take the time to try to educate me! I was the only customer in the building and she made me more able to comprehend, but not speak the language of Biggby. After my breif tutorial, I again felt under-educated... because so many of the things we spoke of regarding flavored coffee, and ordering the same, we made mute because of the ABUNDANT selection of coffees in the vacuum pump pots at the serve yourself station. I didn't know that you are able to serve yourself!!! Now, hopefully the next time I enter a Biggby, I can say... 3 of your largest empty cups and then, smartly accept the cups and confidently Stroll to the self serve area and act like a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGood option for a short stop and better-than-grocery-store coffee. This store is always clean, the service is good, workers pleasant, and prices fair. And its close to the big box retailers in town.
But it IS a cookie-cutter chain-store. It's not quiet. Seating is designed to be comfortable for a only short stay. And local art isn't their thing. So if you're looking for coffee on the go, or a quick conversation that's mostly private, you found it! Biggby is is a good choice, and I reccomend this well-managed shop.
If you want something creative, with lots of character, or expertly roasted flavors and blends, head toward the north side of town, staying right on M66 as it dog-legs its way through town, to Sozo.
I've visited both many times, and never once had a...
