Meijer — Local services in Berlin Township

I would give my ears and I own you a five but because meijer's as a corporation should be getting media free on this issue I'm going to give them a four I have used Myers for years as my number one grocery store and quite frankly most of my shopping needs I've had to return some items at times because it's not always easy to try something on I'm not even sure if they even have dressing rooms at meijer's but anyway I just recently lost my driver's license and because you have to have an appointment Secretary of State I don't have an ID State issue I do therefore have a military ID which is a federal issued ID that should Trump all other forms of identification. I have try to use it a couple different times over the years different locations Grand Rapids Michigan Grand Haven Michigan today Ionia Michigan and I've always gotten a teller that tells me that they can only take a state issued ID and that my federal military ID is no good as far as they're concerned I've asked to speech management and have always been directed to one that one time is anybody ever taken my military ID as a form of ID returning something at Meijer I had managers override the system not taking any ID whatsoever but they have refuse to take a military ID and told me that was store policy some are very kind telling me this while others were using their chance of power over somebody to be a jerk. Today I went to Ionia and had a very pleasant experience when first arriving I dealt with the girl named Kandi who was pleasant but very matter of fact we told me no that they do not take any other form of ID even though I do have a picture of my driver's license on my phone by the way nor was she used the person who bought the gifts and perks but I still think she was very friendly but going by policy possibly using a little authority which I get it I did request a manager it took a manager a couple minutes to get there when she did arrive she was very matter of fact very just stoic but when I did tell her that I do you have a military ID she informed Me Kandi that they did indeed take email chair ID candy was pretty sure that they did not got on the system to show her manager that they did indeed not but at the bottom of the list of IDs accepted she found government issued I was awarded my refund on a gift card and can say I walked away a very happy person cuz I feel like I finally won a battle actually I feel like I freaking won the war I am a military dependant a spouse of a combat veteran that feels that our troops past present do not get to respect or the admiration they deserve at least teach your employees and management that a federal government issued ID Trump's all no pun intended forms of any state level identification that goes for cigarettes that goes for a ladder tickets that goes for alcohol now I know that when I go to meijer's next time to return something and somebody tells me that I cannot use it I will be able to tell them where to look make that apparent thank you I own you for doing your...

Just went to Meijer in Ionia. Went to go return cans and there's a line of people out of the can room. All the machines are full and everybody has been waiting for 15 minutes by the time I walked in and customer service had been called three times. So I walked up to the front desk and said the lady ahead of me said they have been waiting 15 mins and they have been called 3 times already. She said OK well we've paged them we will try again. I said what good is that going to do if they haven't already responded to a page in 15 mins? Walked back to the can room and waited another 10 mins before I walked back up to the service desk again and the head lady was there. She called a 611 to grocery whatever that is I continued to wait another 5 mins before I see her walk by on the phone looking for people. She walked back to the front desk and about 5 mins later Eore walks over with not a motivated bone in his body aimlessly wandering around like it was his first time emptying the machines. Then didn't even empty all of them. He took 3 carts out of there and left the other 6 to be in everybody's way. The whole room was disgusting from chest height on all the walls all over the floor. Bugs were crawling all over the place. The floor was so sticky it was pulling my shoes off my feet. They had a bucket of sludge just sitting on the floor. Every surface in that room was completely sticky and nasty. By far the worst bottle room I've ever been in. My guess as to when even the floor had last been moped would be months at best. The walls even longer they look like years of neglect. My guess would be the store manager hasn't been in that room in quite some time. If they had they would be appalled. I've been shopping at Ionia Meijer for years, but what I witnessed today left me appalled. I was able to hear a manager lecturing her employee very loudly and unprofessionally on July 5th, 2022, in the afternoon. Usually I'd ignore this but I could hear every word and knew exactly what it was about. During the manager's ignorant lecture I heard a mention of a cart pusher, won't state his name but I'm sure anyone who's been there enough times will know who I mean, who left without doing hardly any of his side of the lot! I've seen the worker mentioned playing on his phone and ordering around the other workers many times assuming he was their lead or something, only to find out he's not. Furthermore he leaves his work load behind for the others to clean up, and I've witnessed this often. Yet Meijer thinks they should lecture the men picking up HIS mess?! I thought this store was managed with dignity and respect for their employees, but harping on an employee who's doing double the work for a low life looking for easy pay isn't what that is all. It's childish and pathetic if anything. I will be shopping at Walmart from now on, however, I may stop by Meijer again of only to give the hard working cart pusher information to apply at Walmart.
