Absolutely everything is amazing!!! We ordered three half size appetizers, cheese balls, onion rings, jalapenio poppers- love you can mix/match half size orders, with ranch and first off the ranch is AMAZING (we bought some to take home) but everything was delicious. I ordered a burger with side salad and my daughter a wrap with fries and we both agree everything was 10/10+! Prices are very fair- especially for quality and taste. Service was great as well and the atmosphere amd overall feel was very relaxed. We will definitely be making it in on a regular basis as well as pick-ups on no cook nights.
I can't say enough good things and everything is seriously a 10/10! A must try- you won't be disappointed!!
I seen they even have events at times we will be watching for too.
Update- we've now eaten there multiple times, taken others who haven't gone & ordered multiple times for pick up. The staff are always so kind & provide excellent service, & everything has been amazing every time! Seriously one of the best restaurants in Iowa City! Definitely our favorite & if you haven't eaten here give them a try or if you plan on getting fast food order pick up at Shakespeare's instead- you'll get great service, fresh ingredients, delicious food & about same cost & time! 10/10 reccomended! We are yet to try their breakfast because I keep forgetting they are open for breakfast but will hopefully do soon & I'll post an update- although I doubt it will be less...
Read moreWow! Stepping into Shakespeare's is like stepping into a warm embrace. The atmosphere is just buzzing with life - not in an overwhelming way, but with a comfortable, lively energy that makes you feel instantly at home. It's the kind of place where you can settle in for a long, leisurely meal and feel completely at ease. I can't believe I've never been here before!
And let me tell you about the prime rib special... oh, the prime rib! It was absolutely outstanding. Perfectly cooked (rare for me, please, and thank you) and seasoned to perfection. It was everything I crave in a good prime rib and more. And the sides! The french fries were crispy and delicious, and the coleslaw was a refreshing complement to the richness of the prime rib. The whole plate was just a symphony of flavors.
I'm already planning my return trip. This prime rib special on the last Friday of each month is definitely going to be a monthly indulgence for me! And glancing at the rest of the menu, there are so many other tempting dishes I can't wait to try. The service was just outstanding as well. At least two employees, not my server, stopped by to make sure everything was to my delight. Kudos to all the staff!
Shakespeare's has officially become one of my favorite spots in Iowa City. Thanks for the heads up, joe! Do yourself a favor and go – you...
Read moreNever in my 51 years of life, 15 years of Bartending have I been asked to please not sit at the Bar while waiting for a Table. And was asked to move before I even had a chance to order a drink. Instant walk out after that....Never ever will I attempt to go back to this place.....If I could give a zero star on service, that is what I will give.
I will respond to your comment. I was never offered a drink or anything from the Bartender. The two girls sitting asked for Waters, and the Bartender left for a second to talk to the other Bartender, then came back and asked us to move. No one else was asked what they wanted to drink. We were stared at by the Bartender then were asked to move, since we are not ordering drinks. It was the way she said it and approached it. So we were never offered a drink or a chance to order a drink. The 1st lady who took pur name was accommodating, the 2nd one was too, and asked if we would be willing to sit at a Circle top, when open. The 2 bartender ls, not so much, 1st one said there is a reservation of 10 coming at 6:30, and we might be waiting for a while, and the second with the drinks, will you see. But it is over and done, you will survive and don't really care if we ever come back We tried to eat something new that night, oh well it...
