Zeno’s has always been great, but it’s time to face the facts; over the last couple years they’ve gone to another level entirely and are, by far, the best Beef spot in Massachusetts. While other trendy spots in the North Shore have become obsessed with pretentiously packing as much (average) beef as possible into their sandwich to get looks on social media or whatever, Zeno’s keeps it OG and uses appropriate but never thrifty amounts of their absolutely untouchable beef in every sandwich, making it a much more well balanced sandwich experience overall. There’s always a hint of “spice” to their beef but once again, unlike other spots, they don’t overdo it in an attempt to club you over the head. They simply let their untouchable product shine. I've heard of this place through social media and knew it was a must try. When you walk in, it has the aesthetic you expect from a north shore beef joint. No frills, stationary benches to sit, and a Wachusett chip display. I always go with a junior 3 way. This place did not disappoint! Flavor was crazy good. The meat to sauce to mayo to cheese to bun ratio was on point! The bun held up nicely with the amount of beef they loaded on it. As my sister says, "I want a blue collar beef." WOW! What a great place! Staff was attentive and fun to deal with. Dining room was clean. My date had a salad what was in her opinion "the freshest salad she had ever had". I had the roast beef. Cooked perfectly, it had the right amount of lettuce and mayo and a heaping portion of beef. Fries were cooked right and I also had a cheesesteak eggroll. Another WOW! If you are passing through Ipswich, you should definitely stop here!
