Desi's Subs & Pizza — Restaurant in Iron River

I will be the first to admit I was concerned when Scott's Subs sold and became Desi's but the worry was for nothing. They still have everything you loved about the old but have also brought in their own touch. The inside is coming along nicely, as is the outside of the building. The renovations have been slow but worth it, I think. It is always clean inside and outside the establishment, even during renovations. The employees here are all top notch A+ employees! And that compliment is coming from a seasoned food industry employee. Desi herself works the phone and register often and that girl leads by example, I'm not surprised she has an awesome team! Their bread is baked in house every day and always delicious! Their pizza is great and they are also the only place to get a good chicken Alfredo pizza in the entirety of Iron County. Whether you are looking for a place to stop and grab a bite to eat or to just grab a quick sub on the go, you can't go wrong! Wow! I've had a few sandwiches and the pizza, each have been quality. The bread is outstanding, as well as the cold cuts. The Oinker for breakfast is fabulous and my favorite. It sure hits the spot. I would suggest the Yooper size if you have a hearty appetite. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming as they are updating. A great stop in the U.P. on your way though Iron River. They also have a selection of Ice cream. Order ahead and use the drive thru. Great job...

It was a little disappointing to be honest compared to when Scott's subs used to be here. The bread is nowhere near as good, and has very little flavor to it. The Italian sandwich was very boring it definitely needed mayo and the Philly the bread was really soggy, and the onions were not cooked all of the way thru.
