Disappointing Experience at Ruth Chris(Irvine Location)
Entering the restaurant on a Wednesday(01.03.24) evening should have been the start of a celebratory and enjoyable dining experience. Unfortunately, from the moment we walked in, it felt like a series of disappointments lined up, leaving a bitter taste that overshadowed any hope of a pleasant meal.
Our encounter commenced with a hostess whose demeanor could only be described as disinterested. Her lackluster greeting and indifferent attitude set an underwhelming tone for the evening. Despite having made a reservation, we were left waiting for five long minutes before being acknowledged or seated with less than 50% capacity
As we were finally led to our table, the frustration from the initial wait lingered. The ambiance of the steakhouse was lovely, but the promise of a delightful meal was promptly dashed when we were greeted by a waiter named Arthur. His demeanor exuded an aura of disdain as if our presence was an inconvenience to his day.
Arthur's service was appalling. His indifference to our requests and impolite demeanor made it evident that he had no interest in making our dining experience pleasant. It's disheartening when the person supposed to guide you through your meal appears uninterested and borderline disrespectful.
To exacerbate the already deteriorating experience, the manager's lack of attention was glaring. Despite making rounds to other tables, he completely disregarded our table after we were served, choosing to engage with neighboring patrons but overlooking our need for attention or inquiry into our satisfaction.
Regrettably, the culmination of these disappointments ultimately marred what should have been a celebratory occasion. The poor and rude service rendered by Arthur overshadowed the potential delights of the meal and ambiance. It's disheartening when a restaurant fails to uphold basic standards of service, leaving guests feeling undervalued and ignored.
In reflection, the inefficiency and lack of interest exhibited by the hostess, Arthur's rude and indifferent behavior, and the manager's disregard collectively painted a dismal picture of what dining at "Ruth Chris" should be. It's truly disappointing when an establishment with such promise fails to deliver due to the negligence of its staff, particularly Arthur, who significantly detracted from what could have been a memorable evening.
ONE BIG COMPLIMENT WORTH MENTIONING IS TO A SERVER NAMED DAVID WHO WAS PROVIDING SERVICE TO THE TABLE NEXT TO US AND HE WAS SIMPLY AMAZING, wish we had him instead!

Read moreThis visit was the first time my family and I dined at a Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. After reading the mixed reviews, we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I wish we hadn’t. We came here to celebrate my in-laws 45th wedding anniversary. Some nice touches to the table were a sprinkling of love themed confetti and a paper with Happy 45th Anniversary printed on the top (although the rest of it was just a description of and advertisement for the restaurant).
Be very careful with the burning hot plates the food is served on. I burnt my fingers three times when accidentally touching the plate. They do warn you about this and they’re serious when they say it’s hot!
As far as the food goes, the starters were very good. The lobster bisque and sizzling crab cakes were delicious. Most of our party ordered the prix fixe menu of steak and lobster or steak and shrimp, one order of fillet and I ordered the t-bone. Unfortunately none of the meats were cooked properly. All of them were ordered medium rare and all of them came out undercooked (to the point of raw) or overcooked and somewhat dry. The lobster tail was also over cooked. The sides offered on the prix fixe menu were no longer available as they had run out, so we subbed asparagus, mushrooms and baked potato. The sides were good for the most part. Don’t waste your money on the baked potato though, you could probably make a better one at home. Dessert was very good and was probably the best part of the meal. My in-laws received a free mini cheesecake dessert for their anniversary and this also came as the dessert with the prix fixe menu. The crème brûlée was delicious and was perfectly prepared with fresh fruit. At least it was a good way to end.
Service was spotty at best. While our waiter was very pleasant, he would disappear for long periods of time, leaving us to question what happened to him. A bottle of wine was ordered and the waiter disappeared for at least 15 minutes before he came back with a different bottle than the one ordered. Apparently they didn’t have that either. Not sure how such an expensive “fancy” restaurant can run out of so many items. After our food was served he did check on us a couple times and took care of a couple issues.
I can’t say we’d be back here again when for the prices here, you can get better quality and service elsewhere, such as The Ranch or The Summit House (Fullerton). Overall not the experience we were hoping for for such a...
Read moreWhen you go to an expensive place like this one you expect exquisite food and outstanding service (in Europe for that money I was able to visit the restaurant with 2 Michelin stars). But unfortunately this restaurant did not meet my expectations. I brought my 6-year-old daughter and she was offered a kid's menu. When a waiter appeared to take our orders he ignored a child and disappeared just after he took an adult's orders (I just opened my mouth to ask what my kid is gonna eat but the waiter already went disappeared) Then when he brought our food we joked that "everyone forget about the kid" and only then he payed attention. After bringing our food he again did not bring any drink for the kid and I had to catch him again and remind that the kid's menu comes with a drink. I was disappointed with the food too. The lobster bisque was simply awful. But when I mentioned that it was inedible our waiter told us that it had a taste of burned food because of sherry liqueur and "some people really do not like it". But he did not propose to substitute this dish or to take it from our bill. Also though our reservation was at 6:30 p. m. they were already out of mashed potato and potato gratin (undercooked potato covered with greasy yellow cheese) that they brought instead of it was inedible too (sorry but I visited multiple restaurants in Paris and London and know how potato gratin should look and taste). The steak was good but the lobster was not tasty. Creamy spinach was good. When it came to the dessert we ordered the creme brulee (that was good) and a chocolate ice-cream for my daughter from the kid's menu. Unexpectedly the waiter brought 2 ice-creams for my kid - chocolate and vanilla and mentioned that it was "for free" (I believe that he realized that he ignored the kid all the evening and finally decided to do smth but in the place like this the least I wanted to hear was "for free" - usually in upscale places they mention "a compliment"). Thank you for bringing 2 portions of sugar for my kid instead of providing her a good attentive service. Portions for adults were tiny (see the pics). Still left a 20 percent tip (the check for 2 adults and a kid was $310) but I am definitely not...
