My family and I have been coming here for years. In the last month alone, we dined here 3 times including today. Even one of the managers, Abdul, acknowledged us saying he remembers our family since we are loyal TDB customers.
Unfortunately, it is an understatement to say that today has been extremely and utterly traumatic for my family and I. And I guarantee we will never dine here in Texas De Brazil ever again.
My father is a veteran and it so happened that it was also my birthday. Being that we are regulars, we always have Texas De Brazil gift cards with us. When it was time to settle the bill, the manager, Iris, came over to our table and said we cannot avail of the Veteran’s discount if we have our Texas de Brazil gift cards in one transaction which we understood. We explained that we did not know this since we dined here a lot and have always paid using our Texas de Brazil gift cards. It just so happened that my father is also a Veteran and they were having a Veteran’s discount today.
Anyway, since my husband and I were also celebrating my birthday and did plan to dine here today even without the Veteran’s tribute, we told the manager that we were more than happy to split our bill and just pay for our own meal so that my father can avail of his Veteran’s discount with his family. My husband and I, on the other hand, will be paying for our share of the bill without the Veteran’s discount. When we asked to just split the bill so my father can settle their (my mother & brother’s and his) bill with his Veteran’s discount and my husband and I can settle our bill separately, Iris then proceeded to say “CORPORATE DOES NOT ALLOW BILL SPLITTING IF DINERS ARE EATING IN THE SAME TABLE ON THE SAME RESERVATION”, which we know for a fact was NOT true because as I have said, we have dined here multiple times with friends and business partners in the past and have asked for our separate bills even if we sat and ate on the same table. Iris, then repeatedly told us the same thing that ‘CORPORATE PROHIBITS DINERS FROM BILL SPLITTING’ and that ‘THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO SINCE I AM JUST A MANAGER AND I ONLY FOLLOW CORPORATE RULES’.
Iris then threatened my whole family saying she “WILL CALL THE POLICE ON US” because we were refusing to pay. This left us all in shock and disbelief because there was no mention of us not wanting to pay and it was ludicrous for her to even suggest that we did not intend to pay for our meal. We do not appreciate being threatened when we have been coming to this restaurant for years and we have never had any problems with paying our bill accordingly. My father then proceeds to tell Iris that ‘we do not need the discount and just bring the original bill out’. While he was explaining this, Iris kept talking over him. Being that we were all upset, including my mother and my little brother, my father just said we do not need to talk anymore and enough since she was making our whole family upset on what should have been a joyful celebration and that we just wanted to settle and pay our bill without the Veteran’s discount.
Iris then proceeded to accuse my father saying he yelled at her when she was the one continuing with her police threats while persistently talking over my father who had already said enough and just bring the original bill out.
Given that we were all upset and our nights ruined, we asked for the Veteran’s discount to be removed from our bill and settled the bill as how we always did. It is safe to say, we will not be dining here ever again.
It is appalling that this is now how restaurant managers talk to and treat their customers all in the name of “CORPORATE”. While another manager, Abdul, came over to pacify the situation, the damage had already been done — my birthday celebration, was ruined, my father being celebrated as a Veteran who served the country has now been spat on, both my parents are upset, my kid brother is traumatized from being threatened with the police and my father walked out feeling anxious with his blood pressure shooting up because of the stress and...
Read moreLet me start with I am a usual diner here at the restaurant and typically bring my friends and family when the vip cards come out for special occasions, birthdays, celebrations, etc. Out of all my times here this was the only one where it finally pushed me to write this review. First it started with I made a reservation for a group of 7 for 7:30 on the open table app and then ended up getting a call about how it came through on their end as a reservation for 9pm. (I get it it’s technology and stuff happens) restaurant took care of me over the phone and correct the time and even helped me when I had to call in to add one more person and I am grateful for that. However, upon arrival we show up at our reservation time and we are told our reservation was made too late in the day and we are basically the same as a walk up so we need to wait for a table to seat us and it will be some time. Again no problem, little annoyed that a reservation is being treated as walk up but I get it they are busy. We are finally taken inside and sat on the outside patio as the only group other than a table of 2 who shortly left after our arrival. We are greater with the usual hello from waiter and asks us how we would like our meats preferred and we are a group who likes medium rare to medium. Very first round we are brought spicy sirloin that looks good on outside but let me tell you this thing was so rare that the knives couldn’t even cut through. I get some people like rare cuts and I’m not judging, but man that meat was barely just seared and brought out. More than half our table just pushed it to the side. Next round we have the queen of meats arrive the piccanha (top sirloin). Once again the outsides look great but man this thing was barely cooked more than the last round. One member of my group literally came just for this meat and wanted multiple pieces but after the first slice she was like Woa that is not cooked and just settled for the one as did the rest of us since again the outsides look good until they get sliced and grabbed for the plate. We asked the gentleman if he can bring us more of a medium rare by any chance and he gladly accepted and told us he is on it. He comes back after about 10-15 mins and had a couple of slices on the skewer that were just torched to above even well done. Our group accepted these cuts since we did request more of a cooked kind and we did eat them but man we were all on the same page when I say this thing was like saw dust and dry and was now far far beyond what we were expecting for medium rare to medium. The night was saved for the meats as we requested lamb chops for the table and man we were not disappointed there it was amazing and we took down 1.5 skewers in our group. It was however unfortunate that throughout our whole visit we were only presented 4 types of dishes. The spicy sirloin, top sirloin, garlic sirloin and lamb chops. I know this place has much much more variety, but we felt left out because of our seating outside. As then night came on it began to build outside and we requested the heaters to be turned up a bit more if possible and I don’t believe that request was ever acted upon. There was multiple times where we ran out of waters or drinks and it took quite some time to get some refilled. Which was also again very annoying and out of the usual for this place. At the very end we were told that the kitchen is closing and if we have requests to let them know at that time. We asked for the strip steak or skirt steak not exactly sure which my friend requested but that was never brought out after 10-15 someone showed up with a few pieces of once again super well done New York steak and told us the kitchen had closed. Why ask us for a request and show up with something else after telling us yes and making us wait expecting it. After a few of us got dessert they bring the bill and I present my VIP card to use for the group. Waiter looked a bit shocked when I presented it but took the numbers and processed it... full review doesn’t fit here will send rest to...

Now, let's talk about the food. Texas de Brazil is renowned for its rodizio-style dining, where an array of perfectly cooked meats are brought to your table by skilled gauchos. The selection is vast, and each cut of meat is cooked to perfection. Two standout dishes that deserve special mention are the lamb chops and the fillet.
The lamb chops were a revelation. Tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor, they were grilled to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. Each bite was a delightful explosion of taste, and I couldn't help but go back for seconds (and thirds!). The quality of the lamb was evident, and it was clear that great care had been taken in its preparation.
The fillet was another highlight of the evening. Cooked to a perfect medium-rare, it was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The richness of the beef was complemented by a subtle char from the grill, enhancing the overall flavor profile. It was evident that Texas de Brazil uses only the finest cuts of meat, and the fillet was a testament to their commitment to quality.
In addition to the mouthwatering meats, the salad bar at Texas de Brazil is nothing short of spectacular. Offering a wide variety of fresh vegetables, cheeses, and other delicacies, it's the perfect complement to the rich, savory meats. The attention to detail in every dish, from the sides to the main courses, is truly impressive.
