T.J. Maxx — Local services in Tustin

I don’t usually do reviews but they totally deserve a good review. This location is fabulous & so are the people who work there! Starting with the Manager Tasjel (I hope I spelled that correctly) she goes above and beyond to ensure that every customer’s needs are met, along with the other people who work there. They were comfortable asking her for help and if they needed assistance with something she was very sweet and helpful. I had a return and couldn’t find my receipt, and when they scanned the tags the item wasn’t matching exactly with what the system said, so she had told me that unfortunately without the receipt I’d have to take them back to the location I purchased them from. I did my shopping and paid for my things, and when I got back to my car, I found the receipt! So I went back in and she was happy to do the return for me. had asked if she could apply the amount towards the purchase I had just made, so it wouldn’t have to be so much on my credit card, and she explained to one of the cashiers what I needed and she just so happened To be the same cashier who just rang me up for all the stuff I just bought. Her name was Selena and she was very helpful and nice. She did the exchange for me and then applied the difference to my purchase & she reversed the charge on my credit card. It was right before closing and it was nice to see how all the people who worked there worked together as a team and they were very good about keeping the carts, and the checkout areas cleaned...

I felt profiled at this store. I and another black guy I didnt know were shopping in the men's section and out of the blue the intercom says, "Welcome to the Men's Section". I had been in this section for several minutes with items in my cart and I wasn't sure what the other gentlemen had.

I and a few customers in line looked at each other as this was strange timing. I walked through the line and waited to speak with a manager. I think I spoke to a shift leader who was very nice. I told her how I felt and she said it is on automatic sensors however I did not hear it at any other time except that 1 time and pointed that out to her as we had a discussion. If I heard it more than once then I wouldn't have been offended. I pushed my cart to the side and told her I would not be making a purchase. Once again, she was nice and maybe it is on sensors but it looks like TJ Maxx in Irvine profiled two black patrons and one of them will not be back for sure.

I want to give a huge shoutout to Farnoosh at this TJ Maxx store for her incredible sense of style and customer service! The Halloween display tables she decorated were absolutely stunning and so cute! look at these pictures! full of charm, creativity, and thoughtful detail. Every piece was perfectly arranged, and the Halloween selection felt both festive and elegant. It really elevated the shopping experience!

Farnoosh also went above and beyond to help me find the perfect piece for my dining room. She took the time to listen to what I was looking for, made thoughtful suggestions, and helped me imagine how it would fit in my space. It felt like I went shopping with my bestfriend who happens to be a designer! I mean her eye for design and genuine care for the customer experience really stood out. That is something you do not find in stores anymore. Thank you, Farnoosh, for your amazing work and for making my day! I will definitely return to this TJmaxx...
