California Pizza Kitchen at Tustin — Restaurant in Tustin

Really unfortunate their service is so terrible...I won't be going back!

Set up a school fundraiser on a Thursday night here so was excited to try it but was greeted with a rude host- told him we needed a table for 5 that includes a high chair, he sat us in the most annoying 4 seat square table close-ish to the bathroom (high traffic area) that's turned at maybe a 45 degree angle where only 2 seats were comfortable because one person is squished against the wall + one side needed to share space with the high chair (wtf?). We asked to move before even sitting down and the kid (host) was like "no, you can't move because of the high chair" (wtf?)

Then it took 10 mins for a waiter to get to us to order, I know this because I was looking at my watch to make sure we can order happy hour drinks lol. Waiter takes our order, drops off our drinks and food then we never see him again until we wave him down when we were almost close to finishing our food with only 2 sets of utensils!! My husband had to eat with a knife.

Food was better than I remembered but it was such a hassle to try to enjoy eating here that I'll probably decide against going back for a while or ever if I...

To be upfront we didn’t actually eat because service took so long. I hadn’t been to CPK in years and my sister who recently moved from out of state had never been so I figured let’s introduce her to a California staple. Well we entered and there was no greeter. There was the station so I was pretty sure we still had to wait to be seated. Well we waited. And waited. It took over five minutes until some actually seated us. Then when we sat we took a look at the menus and the prices were out of control. From my past memory the pizza is good, but not worth $20 for a pizza that’s barely big enough to be shared. And because we were given enough time to sit and flip through the menu and see the prices as well as the gentleman at the table next to us clearly trying to look around to grab someone’s attention for the entire duration, I decided to bail. I could already tell it wouldn’t be worth the wait. I probably would have given it a full shot if we were seated and waited upon quickly but I was just in no mood to wait when it wasn’t...

Food: Personal pizza with sausage and avocado slices. Service: Our server was was extremely attentive and made the experience pleasant. Atmosphere: The atmosphere was OK, but be advised that you may experience that at-home in the kitchen experience because it's sounds like that. Caution: My personal pizza with two toppings, no drink, and tip came to $31. I had recently visited The Pizza Store in Placentia and for $23 I had a fresh iceberg lettuce salad w/Blu Cheese Dressing, tomatoes, onions, mozzarella cheese, and red cabbage, and a personal pizza w/ extra sauce, sausage, and jalapenos. And I included a tip. I get there isn't anything fancy about the Pizza Store, but they have great food. Addionally: to receive responses to my reviews that include "better experience next time" implies there will be a next time (I strongly dislike when businesses mention this, because it implies a single negative experience). I used to go to CPK and enjoy the food, but unless someone else wants to go there, I won't be suggesting or going...
