We came to the Irving location to do our fantasy football draft and decided to sit at a table near the bar while we drafted. Our draft took about 3 hours and during that period, we ordered food and drinks. Toward the end of our draft, the bartender Brian decided to not serve us anymore drinks "because he felt uncomfortable". I kindly asked why and he said basically made it seem like we were all drunk. In 3 hours, we had 3 drinks each so basically 1 drink an hour. I called the manager over, Eve, and she said she would not make Bryan do something he is not comfortable with which I understand but we tried to explain the situation and she didn't seem to care at all.
We asked her what is the limit per hour on drinks that would qualify us to be cut-off and she said 3 per hour. We had 1.. proven by the receipt. We asked her if he's uncomfortable for whatever reason, can we get served by someone else and she said no. We also told within the first hour we were there, we each ordered 1 beer and Brian forced us to order food otherwise "he would not serve us more drinks" which we told him we are planning to order, we are just trying to do our fantasy draft first. Nonetheless we ordered the food which 30 mins later he came back when one of us tried to order their 2nd beer in which he said no because we hadn't ordered food... In which we said "no we did, it still hasn't come out yet". His response was "oh I'll be honest I completely forgot to put your orders in". One of our friends had an expired license so he couldn't drink but for video purposes, he did a cheers with one of the drinks (didn't drink it of course) for the video so we could send it in our group chat since not everyone could make it to the in-person draft. Brian saw that and didn't like it, and I explained to him it was just for a video and he said "well I don't know that". I told him, "I mean you just watched us cheers and take a video with my phone, plus the drink is right next to me, our friend has not taken it...". He kept repeating he didn't feel comfortable still.
So Brian (maybe it was Ryan) and Eve basically: Wouldn't serve us alcohol. Contradicted the businesses policies. Forced us to order food via an ultimatum. (was fine since we planned to order anyway) Forgot our order. Refused to serve us further. Manager couldn't even remember her store # when I asked her. She gave the wrong one, maybe intentionally after I told her I'm going to file a complain to corporate as well?
Honestly, I felt like our group of 5 were being profiled in some way by Brian.
The manager was just doing her job but she didn't help the situation. She even said "he's new" but did nothing to remedy and instead was confrontational and said we were arguing with her. I told her no we aren't, we are just explaining the situation calmly and we don't expect a resolution but just wanted her to hear us out.
My friends and family have come to the Irving location over others many times and the staff have always been nice. We've done draft parties there before with no issue and we have had much more to drink during football game days as well.
I honestly hate to be that guy but the level of disrespect and service for folks who have for a decade+ provided business to this location versus any others is insane to me. All because Brian felt "uncomfortable" and had no logical reason or explanation as to why when we asked.
I hope someone has a conversation with the staff and just tries to put better policies in place to prevent these sort of ridiculous situations that have no validity. I will say the food was good so that was the bright side at least. Bad service is what drives businesses downhill and I would think Buffalo Wilds Wings does not want to...
Read moreUpdate —- changing my rating due to many improvements There’s been a significant change in the quality and service and atmosphere of this location. The attendants are more intentional in their service. Food quality and time taken has improved drastically the last couple of times I’ve been here.
Prior update Used to love this place to the point we would come weekly or more often than that. For the last 2 years, this particular location has gone downhill. We stopped coming here due to lack of consistency, delayed service, & overall morale of staff being reduced, high staff turnover… the crowd also has decreased in this store (bdubs corporate can validate that with historical data).
Anyways… today 8/23/22, we arrived around 4:20pm. There were literally 3 tables with total of 8 customers excluding us in the entire bdubs. We sat at the bar area to be waited… after 4:30 one person walked in and got us water. 1 of the 3 staffs passed by us about 4 times (I have his name but won’t disclose here) without giving any attention and attended to the other 3 tables. A couple walked in sat at bar, and their order was taken immediately. We waited another 15 min, with no one attending to us.
Since my daughter who just came from school was starving, we got up and walked past that waiter (who attended others nearby) and even after eye contact was made, and he saw us leave, there was zero level of care / service / empathy given. He knew we were leaving and that we were not attended to for over 25 minutes.
I remember by name a managers from prior years that were great from Mo to Zach; since we were frequent customers, they knew us by name!!
Sucks to see this location going down this way.
Ohh… after I left, I asked for the manager on duty between 4 & 5pm, they said that another manager would be arriving at 5:30 and that the current manager is not there.
Let me make a prediction here.. come next year this time, this place will be out of business IF this is how they continue to provide service, which sucks because at one point this was our...
Read moreHorrible Manager!! We had given special set of instructions for the surprise birthday, personally to the greeter who assured us that the instructions will be followed, however, when time came nothing was followed. When we inquired why it was not followed, the manager literally started screaming "it is illegal we can't do that". Well I had no idea what she was referring to as illegal, was it serving liquor on 21st birthday was illegal or serving liquor at 00:01 am was illegal. I am not even aware of any such rules but even if it was, they should have informed us ahead of time. If they forgot to inform us, they could have at least explained it to us properly instead of yelling out making a scene.
So this was what was supposed to happen, we had planned the surprise after contacting Buffalo Wild Wings over the phone. We will turn in the cake and candles before 9 pm, we will come back with 11 people at 10:30, server will bring cake at midnight for Birthday with a shot for 21st Birthday. Everything was going as planned. We handed in the cake at around 8:30 pm, we informed them we will be 11 of us, she even asked us what kind of shot would we want along with the cake. Everything was set. However, when we walked in, their was different greeter. She rudely told us that they were not expecting us and asked us to wait. We waited for about 15 mins which we were kinda fine with. Then we order our meal and we reminded the server about our plan and he assured us that it will be carried out. We reminded again at 11:55 pm about the midnight cake cutting. It was 12:01 am server was nowhere to be found. it was 12:05 am server was nowhere to be found. Then we started looking for him and we finally found him after few minutes. Finally at around 12:15 am, he arrived with the cake inside the box, with the candles on the side. No shots. When we inquired about it he asked us to talk with the manager and that when she started...
