Saturday June 29th my girlfriend and I visited On The Border for lunch. I waited over 24 hours to make this post. And a few days to read & reread it .This is probably going to be the worst review I've ever given a restaurant. We arrived according to my State Farm beacon at 1:18 p.m. We were promptly seated upon arrival and our chips and salsa arrived and our drink order was given. We also had a coupon for free queso from the last time we were there. The waiter comes up to my girlfriend and says hey girl are you ready to place your order? She gave him her order he did not address me He just looked at me and stared. I gave him my order. He came by a few times and addressed her with his "hey girl "is everything okay every time. We knew it was taking a long long for our order to arrive. Finally the order arrived the server placed her order in front of her and my order in front of me. I stated that mine was wrong I ordered without the cheese or whatever drizzle on the flautas. He said let me take care of that for you brought back a saucer to scoop up the flautas. He soon decided he would take the whole plate. The waiter passed by a few times and noticed my plate was gone this is the first time he addressed me and even spoke to me. I stated it was wrong they took it back. He stated I told them not to put that on there. Okay we waited, we waited and we waited. When my order finally arrived corrected My girlfriend was almost done. I sat there for a minute. She asked me if I was ready to go and I said yes. She went up front and asked for the manager the manager came over and stated she had taken my meal off the ticket. She asked me if I wanted a to go a to go box not reply was I'm really thinking about going someplace else and ordering. She then stated she would take care of everything no charge. She brought us to go boxes and we boxed everything up drove back to South Irving through the stuff in the refrigerator so it wouldn't ruin. And then we proceeded to return to the same area to take care of the business that we were in that part of town in the first place. Today I looked at my State Farm beacon travel and it stated we left on the border at 2:53 that is ridiculous that we had to be there so long. If need be I can back these times up with screenshots. My message to the manager thank you for the free meal , she finished hers today I threw mine in the trash. My message for the waiter ... NEVER disrespect a man's girlfriend by referring to her as "hey girl" also NEVER disrespect a man buy not addressing him just by looking at him to give you his order. Sir you first mistake was addressing my girlfriend by hey girl to take her order and second then never addressing me. Do I want someone fired , no . I blame the manager for not...
Read moreVery disappointed. Through out our night, we had our guest coming up to us and telling us about their experience. They said the people looked like they did not want to serve. Our guest ended up standing in line for little over an hour to get through everyone. We paid extra to get the ultimate fajita platter for 150 guest. Our guest told us when they got up to the table they asked her how many “tacos” do they want. They said they felt like they had to choose between 2 and not get all 3 meats that came with the ultimate platter. We were told when we booked it was like an assembly line and that each guest would get a plate with all 3 meats, rice beans, salad, chips, salsa, queso and 3 tortillas just like if you ordered it at the restaurant (we paid extra for everyone to get an extra tortilla) not “tacos.” One of our guest even told us they felt discriminated against because he went up to the white male and asked where the salsa was and the male replied, “that’s the only salsa we have. I know you Mexicans like it hotter.” We also ordered white linens for the table as it was an all white wedding. They used black ones. Somebody told us it looked like a funeral. We also told them we had real white plates for guest to use because we did not want them to use the black paper plates. They started serving the food on the black paper plates. I was also under the impression when We talked to the lady that after their serving time was done, they would leave it in disposable warmers for guest to serve themselves if they came late. We had our guest come to us and say they never got a plate. I went to go check on the food and it was in to go bags boxed up. All of our guest were from out of town and we had half from out of state. For most, it was the first time interacting or eating On the Border. It was plain embarrassing. We loved this place and we paid the extra money because we wanted our guest to share our love for the food. We will no longer eat here. Very...
Read moreThis is definitely the WORST place you could ever choose to eat in your life. My husband and I came here on a Friday night around 9:30. We left at 9:50.
When we arrived, there was no one at the front to greet us and the manager looked like he had a problem coming to the front to say hello. When we finally got greeted, he took us to a table that was dirty and then he tried to move us to a table in the back, by the kitchen when there were exactly six other tables that were taken in the restaurant; all the other ones were free.
After getting someone else to wipe off the table, he continued to seat us and never told us to "Enjoy our meal" or said anything else to us. We never even got his name. We waited 10 minutes for someone to come and take our drink order and when our drinks finally came, they weren't up to par with the price that the restaurant was charging.
We continued to order our appetizer and we did not get plates or napkins until we requested them and when they came the plates were dirty. Our food came out and it was incorrect, missing ingredients and my husband's food was cold. He ordered a quesadilla and they couldn't even take the time to melt the freaking cheese. Mind you, the restaurant is nowhere close to even MILDLY busy.
The final straw was when, in my quesadilla, I found something round and black and when I asked the manager about it he said "I don't know what that is". In short I would never recommend anyone in their life eat here, even if they were starving to death. Don't spend your money. Go...
