I recently visited Hashtag India restaurant in McKinney with high hopes of enjoying a delicious non-vegetarian biryani. Upon asking the server for a recommendation, I was advised to try the Ankapoor biryani. Excitedly, I placed my order and took it home to enjoy.
However, upon opening the biryani, I was met with a nauseating smell that made me feel like I was going to vomit. Disappointed and concerned about the quality of the food, I immediately called the restaurant to express my dissatisfaction. Their response was simply, "We will replace it, please come back."
Unfortunately, returning to the restaurant was not feasible for me as I had driven 25 miles to get there, and it was already late. The restaurant suggested refrigerating the biryani and bringing it back whenever I could return. The following day, they realized that I hadn't paid for the previous order, though I was unaware of this.
When I offered to pay for the original order, they insisted on providing a new biryani at no extra cost. However, what troubled me was the lack of urgency in their response. It felt as though they didn't take my complaint seriously, as if they assumed I was lying about the quality of the food.
Despite my reassurance that I had not tampered with the original order, they did not bother to open or inspect it. Eventually, I paid $21 for the replacement biryani, feeling disregarded and unimportant as a customer.
My experience at Hashtag India left me disappointed and frustrated. I urge others to exercise caution when ordering takeout food and to inspect it carefully before leaving the restaurant. It's essential for restaurants to prioritize customer satisfaction and take complaints seriously to maintain their reputation and trust...
Read moreMy friends and I recently visited the restaurant on my birthday to try the Bahubali Chicken Mandi. Overall, the experience was decent. The rice, while flavorful, was slightly on the dry side, which affected the overall texture of the dish. However, the gravy was rich and packed with flavor, adding a delightful contrast that balanced the meal well. The chicken itself was well-cooked, tender, and enjoyable, making it a highlight of the dish. The restaurant had a pleasant and inviting atmosphere, but it did get a bit noisy at times. One aspect that stood out as a bit uncomfortable was the kid running around and occasionally peeking at us while we ate, saying “papa papa” and running away. It felt distracting, and unfortunately, the staff didn’t address this issue. They primarily focused on serving food and attending to tables only when called, which made it seem like maintaining the dining environment wasn’t a priority. I didn’t want to come across as difficult or complain about the situation. On the positive side, the staff were courteous and responsive when approached. They made an effort to accommodate our needs and provided service with a polite demeanor. One practical suggestion I’d like to offer is to provide a few large-sized slippers for mandi diners to use when accessing the restroom. I came in wearing shoes, and when I needed to wash my hands after having mandi, had to walk barefoot in the restroom, which was not ideal. Overall, while there were some minor inconveniences, the experience was still enjoyable. With a few adjustments, the dining experience could be even better. Thanks for the good food. Will definitely...
