Authentic Tamil Nadu Flavors & Exceptional Hospitality!
After three long years in the U.S., I finally found a place that brought me back home — Anjappar. The moment I stepped in, I was welcomed with warmth and care, especially by Mr. Vijay (Manager), who went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and well taken care of.
The food is absolutely outstanding — true Tamil Nadu taste that I’ve been missing for so long! Every dish was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and felt just like home.
Here’s what we tried and loved: • 🥘 Mutton Seeraga Samba Biryani – aromatic, rich, and perfectly spiced • 🍗 Chicken Biryani – tender chicken with classic biryani flavors • 🍗🔥 Madurai Poricha Kozhi – crispy, flavorful, and addictive • 🥩 Mutton Sukka – melt-in-your-mouth with a perfect spice balance • 🐟 Meen Tandoori – fresh, smoky, and delicious • 🍛 Madurai Mutton Curry – authentic taste with a rich, comforting gravy • 🥐 Paratha – soft, flaky, and the perfect side • 🍮 Gulab Jamun & Laddu – warm, sweet, and nostalgic desserts
And I have to say this — the best naan I’ve ever had in the U.S. was here! Soft, buttery, and perfectly charred.
If you are craving authentic South Indian/Tamil Nadu food or just want a taste of home, this is the place to go. Big thanks to Mr. Vijay for the personal attention and hospitality — it truly made the experience special.
I’m so glad I found Anjappar — can’t wait to come back and bring more...
Read moreGiven up on the Old Awesome Anjappar as it jus went downhill to below average, I was hesitant to eat here. My friend re-assured that this place was Elite. Here is my review of our lunch: Jeera sambha Mutton biryani - Very rich in flavor and didn't have the excess thalapakatti-style overwhelming cinnamon-pepper flavor. An awesome Tamil biryani. Salna - The chicken salna was delicious and the veg salna was delicious for the vegetarians Parotta - a bit disappointing and I would take .5 away from the rating to have messed up our staple dish. Nethili fry - Real good Anjappar chicken masala - very tasty, request spicy Varutha mozhagu chicken - very disappointing Gobi 65 - Very good as we ordered one more after the first got over in under 2 mins Baby corn - Impressive Veg noodles - Good for vegetarians. Goli Soda Paneer/ Rose - very good and my table probably got 5. Cost - I felt that it was a bit expensive - $18 for a mutton biryani. But then again, everything, everywhere is quite expensive now!! Service - Excellent!! Overall, great comeback by Anjappar, let's have to see how they stay up. In summary, a good Tamil...
Read moreI had an absolutely wonderful experience at this restaurant! The staff were incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived — they greeted us with warm smiles and made sure we were comfortable throughout the meal. The service was very attentive; they checked on us often to make sure we had everything we needed and even made great recommendations from the menu. The food was delicious and freshly prepared — the parottas were soft yet perfectly crispy, just the way they should be! Their Dindigul Mutton Biryani, Kothu Parotta, and Anjappar Chicken Dry are a must and should definitely be tried if you visit. Every dish was full of authentic flavor and served hot. The restaurant had a nice lively atmosphere, but it was still easy to talk and enjoy our time as a group. Overall, it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had recently. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food, friendly service, and a...
