JC DONUT — Restaurant in Irving

In my opinion, these are the best tasting donuts on this side of Irving. Their baked goods are made with excellence and that is why I continue to come to this location. I am not a regular customer. If I go everyday, I will swell up, but on occasion I will treat myself. I also like to bless others and take extra to share. Today I found out if you want a large order, you have to preorder a day before. It seems they only prepare a certain amount. You can call and hopefully someone will pick up. Two days ago, I got to work STARVING and wanted kolaches. I absolutely LOVE kolaches, and I called because they were the closest donut shop near. I asked for fresh kolaches and he kind of chuckled, like "She must doesn't know? They are always fresh and are about to blow her mind." Ya'll, I drove 1.5 miles and got a dozen MIXED kolaches at a BEYOND reasonable price and they were SO fresh. The bread and meat they use are DELICIOUS. There is no bad after taste. Used to be Mimi's donuts (the Mimi's signs are still up). Quality seems as good under the new owners. The apple fritters are about half the size but still tasty. My only complaint is they're never open (or maybe the hours listed on Google are wrong). I pass by every Saturday morning on my bike ride hoping to grab a donut but in the time since the new owners took over months ago, I've only found them open twice. So probably safer to assume they're closed on Sat/Sun. I haven't been on a weekday so can't say if they're more reliable...
