Long John Silver's — Restaurant in Irving

This is the first time I went to a LJS in over ten years and I've got some things to say. First, the cole slaw wasn't included with my order and I didn't find out until I got home. Normally that makes me really mad and I'll go back to the place to go get what's missing. The difference here is that the lack of an item from my order didn't take away from my experience there. I just went back in time to when I was just ten years old and my family, mom, dad and my brother and sister, were having a weekend family dinner at the local LJS in Pleasant Grove where I used to live. We went there on a weekly basis. I always got the fish and shrimp combo because I didn't like anything else. What I had today was the fish and shrimp combo with fries, missing cole slaw, clams and a crab cake. I didn't eat the shrimp because I'm allergic but my mom said they were great. I don't remember the crab cake from when I was a kid but it was pretty good. The clams were something I wouldn't have tried as a kid but they tasted pretty good and even my mom liked them too, though they could have been crispier. The fish was crispy and moist, tasted just how I remembered it did.

Will I excuse the fact a part of my order was left out, yes but only this one time. Will I go on a weekly basis again? No, I want to live past 25 but we'll probably make it a once a month special dinner. Yes, its fairly greasy and very unhealthy but its good for the soul. No other fast food joint that I've gone to has ever given me an experience that took me back to a time when I was a kid and my family was together. Next time, I'll just double check my order to make sure everything...

Five stars for the excitement of visiting one of my childhood places to eat. I made up my mind that yes it's going to be a visit to one of my childhood favorite food places. I hadn't been to Long John Silver's in a while not until Saturday 4/27/2024 around 6 pm. I ordered fish and hush puppies and received a courtesy lemonade after asking about the senior discount and it was too late to give me the discount after I paid. When I ate the food it seemed ok but that drink was lemonade I really didn't care for.

By Sunday morning I was running from B to B, Bed to bathroom over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. I unfortunately missed a day of work due to this food or drink poisoning.

As soon as possible I reached out to the franchise. I spoke with a manager on Tuesday and was instructed to reach back out to another the following day. I did just that. explained everything again. I don't want to go on here. There was no resolution through LJS. But thanks for the memories and I shall not return to this location. I wouldn't want to risk my life or finances.

I’m staying at the the hostel down the street. I venture out in search of sustenance. A cold Sunday evening in Irving, everything in my area is closed. The Brazilian steak house, the Italian joint, the burger joint, all closed. I head passed the McDonalds and see the Long John Silver sign. It’s the highest rated place open, I walk in. I order way too much food for one person, 3 chicken and 2 fish, 2 sides. I sit and wait. I collect my food and as I’m at the ketchup station loading up on tarter sauce and vinegar, I knock my tray over. All the food and a water cup along with the sauce exploded on the floor in a small sodium bomb. Mortified, I collect a bunch of napkins and start scooping up my lost meal. As I’m wrapping up I make for the door to get out of there as soon as possible. The gentleman at the desk gives me a loud “hey”. As I circle back he tells me he’s already making my replacement, on the house. I apologize repeatedly and wait for me enormous meal. It was as advertised and tasty.
