Luci’s Chicken N Rice — Restaurant in Irving

SALTY!!! Warning: if you are not a fan of salt then this place is not for you! Yesterday was our first visit to Luci's as it's close to the Home Depot so was on our way and their reviews were great. We got the 10 piece mixed chicken, chicken tender, shrimp and catfish. I will not order the shrimp again as it was as if they beat it flat before breading and frying. All you tasted was the breading as the shrimp was practically not there. The tender was okay but not great but as stated above SALTY!!! The catfish was a nice sized piece and cooked perfectly. The regular bone in chicken was the best thing we had but far from the best in town. They have plenty of sides to choose from but we were there for the meat so we didn't order any sides. We got our food to go but they offer drive through and in house dining as well. It's very clean. It's a fast casual place so counter service only. I have been going here for 3 years and never have I ever had the service and food I received yesterday on Sunday September 7,2025 I went I got a 10 piece mix with the 2 sides. First if you get the 10 pc mixed with 3 sides and free 2 liter it's 25$ and some change. Well I got the 10 pc with 2 sides and paid the exact price I always pay for the one with 3 sides??? I don't understand why it was the exact same price. Now the chicken had sat out all day it wasn't fresh I have never received unfreshed chicken before so when I got home and seen this BS I was mad. I'm not coming back I was overcharged and look at this chicken it's not fresh I had 2 pieces that was fresh and the red was dark and old looking. Sunday May 15 2022, this is my second time coming here, my husband loves chicken so I seen good reviews. The chicken tenders are excellent, fried shrimp tasty, fried rice is good, corn on the cob could use a little flavor, I did not like the hush puppies they are very dry not good, fries are fries, mashed potatoes aren’t bad, but they are definitely not real potatoes. Last the GRAVY was horrible, can’t really call it gravy, it was just runny liquid not good at all. I ordered extra, and they charged almost $2 for a 2oz container that’s unreal.. as far as the service. The window person was just doing a job, and not very friendly, but the Asian young man was very nice, he came to the window cause he seen I wanted to ask a question, he tried to let the girl know I wanted something but I guess she ignored him, so he stepped up....
