City Hall Cafe & Wine bar — Restaurant in Islamorada

I continue to be disappointed with the restaurant, and the staff could care less. I have ordered take out on multiple occasions and the have repeatedly screwed up the order, once they gave me garbage in a container instead of my sandwich. Maybe the chef was playing a joke. But I'm not kidding. Once I had to go back there times for them to get the sandwich order right. This place is terrible. Then another time My wife ordered a "filet mignon" and they gave us the fattiest worst cut of meat I have seen, the Entrees (chicken, pasta, etc) are bland , and the portions are small. The only thing that is ok is their sandwiches but a 12 year old can make a sandwich better theirs. Don't waste you time or appetite at this place when there are so many better places in Islamorada.

I have had many dishes from here. The tuna sub and the pasta salad was awesome. For dinner I have had the shrimp Diablo which was so good,spicy but in a good way. Also I have had the chicken parmesan. All portions are very generous was able to get multiple meals from one dinner. Oh and let me tell you the bread is amazing. So good. Family members have gotten the blackened shrimp tacos and loved them. That said if you just want a great burger then come here perfect every time. Great flavors too all the dishes. Great place to eat lunch or dinner. They even deliver and the delivery guy was very nice . Can't say enough about the food they seem to hit it out of the park every time. One more thing giant cookie to go with you lunch. Or save it for when you have coffee. I had s'mores cookie it was a meal all by its self. Big enough to share if you really love the one...

My meatloaf special was cold, a server took my plate & before I could get the words "doggie bag" out of my mouth she put table trash on it. Oh well, instead of heating it up for later, I'll give it to the cat. unimpressed. Oops, nearly forgot, the mushroom soup was good. 2.16.19 I read the response from the owner and said it was snarky. I took that down thinking maybe he was being humorous. Then I read his responses to some less than stellar reviews and I'm back to snarky. We all have our bad days, and sometimes our staff lets us down, but a simple "I'm sorry that happened, we'll do better next time" goes a long way. Instead of giving it another chance, I'll go to the other area restaurants where I've had both good service good food and no snarky attitude. He won't miss me as enough folks seem to...
