Wine Me Up is a new addition to Gilman Village in Issaquah, the community generally lacking a wide variety of entertaining spaces. I would like the community to continue to support this independent, women and minority owned business.
I very rarely write public, negative reviews but I have been here many times and I can see the problems so clearly, many of which are easy enough to fix.
Architecture and Design: Interior is bright white, lavender, cute but somewhat industrial in character. I would not characterize this place as cozy. The high top bar chairs are not tall enough and lack adequete support on the seating surface. The seating throughout the venue is metal chairs or benches. During the rainy season, the garage doors should be closed or the outdoor area tented and heated similar to Spark Pizza's model. In general, a different, larger space is preferred.
Live music and special events make this place inviting, but there is no dedicated space for musicians to play, nor lighting for photography/videos to be captured. Live music in a venue this size should be quieter as the acoustic properties of the space does not support loud music (hard surfaces everywhere).
Food: I've been working my way through the menu and while I commend what the limited staff are able to do, the food is not a draw for me.
Service and Technical Issues: The servers are friendly and nice. I personally dislike the need to wear a uniform, beyond wearing a utilitarian apron and industry approved footwear.
I find the programming shown on screen to be distracting and unnecessary unless the programming relates to a promoted event. Just having a screen broadcasting reality TV isn't very interesting.
Payment systems are kind of wonky with the card reader needing to be pressed behind the device in a specific way, the end user wouldn't know. I somewhat prefer the payment to be processed away from the table, then allowing the customer to hand write in a tip at their leisure. I find the request to do point of sale at table side to be an...

Asked to be seated outside when a table became available, was assured we would get one, proceeded to watch them give away outdoor tables to new guests while we waited indoors as they forgot about us.
Very very small space. Insanely loud music, had to yell in my dates ear.
$14 for 5 pieces of grilled romaine.. do what you will with that information. (Did not come with a knife so a little difficult to eat a whole piece of romaine heart with a fork)
Waitress did not interact with us much, didn’t ask of if we liked our wine flight, if we wanted to try a full glass of any of the options we got. They were much more concerned with getting people in and out rather than create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Won’t be back.
Just pick up your fav wine, some cheese and fruit at QFC and have a nice date in the...
Read moreWine Me Up is exactly what Issaquah needed! This cozy wine bar is just the spot for a perfect evening out. The selection of Washington wines checks all my boxes and they really showcase the best our state has to offer (they had non WA wines too but I am always a fan of the local scene).
Don’t sleep on the kitchen here! Everything we tried was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The small plates are perfect for sharing, and the flavors really complement the wine selection. It’s clear they put as much care into the culinary side as they do the wine program.
The atmosphere is casual, warm, and inviting. Great for date night or catching up with friends. Service was attentive without being overbearing. They have only been open a few days and we’ll definitely be back to work our way through more of their menu. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality wine experience on the...
