Confluence Park is a nice little park and it is the first time we went there. My kids and I wanted to go and check out the salmon spawning but we didn't see any. The park has a small playground for kids mainly a climbing wall, some climbing ropes, and some balancing beams. My kiddos liked it. The graveled paths around the park seemed to be well maintained. There is plenty of trees and vegetation and there is a cool bridge and a creek. We didn't go around the entire park because a large bird, which could have been an owl or a hawk, we didn't see its face, all of a sudden attacked my daughter as we were turning around from Margaret Meadow's Gateway. It really was scary and my daughter was very frightened and so was I, it all happened so fast as the bird came out from the trees swooping down on my daughter's head. We decided to leave the park right away and walk around the park to get back to our vehicle as none of us didn't want to go pass the path where my daughter was attacked by the large bird. I am putting this out here because I am not sure if anyone had experienced something like this before but I searched online if this type of incident has ever happened in this park or not, and I couldn't find anything. Outside of the incident, the...
Read moreI came to this park because of the nice photos from other reviewers that make it look like a nature preserve with trails. However, I was sorely disappointed after I visited. Aside from the main area, which is clean and picturesque, the majority of the walking trails in this park are muddy and not well maintained. There are weeds and trash, and the trails are not very long at all.
If you just want to walk your dog or watch your kids play, this is an ideal park for that purpose. However, if you were actually hoping to do any hiking, this is way too small of a park to be very satisfying, and it's also a muddy, littered, mosquito infested mess when you walk...
Read moreI love this park, it's simple, but it offers so much. It's become the official hang out for many of my friends. There's free parking, a playground for children, a community garden, public bathrooms, covered picnic tables, grassy fields under the shade of beautiful trees that could be used for sports or laying down a blanket, and beautiful walking paths in many directions around the creek. It's also within walking distance of Gilman Village and Front Street, the other best parts of Issaquah. You can walk to get bubble tea or coffee and come back to the...
