We had the most wonderful experience working with Art by Fire, specifically with Brad and Sharon, to make custom memorial/cremation ash pieces. I cannot thank them enough for the special work they do 🩷
Unfortunately, I lost my mom in February; she LOVED bright colors and loved glass art, especially colorful votives like glassybabies. I looked around at various places and found that several made glass items incorporating cremation ashes. What set Art by Fire apart is that they encourage you to come watch your piece(s) be made. We were also able to choose custom items and colors for those items (whereas a different business I considered had pre-set items and color options for you to choose from). We met with Sharon ahead of time to plan our pieces and schedule an appointment. On the day of, we met Brad, the artist that did this amazing work. He was so friendly and really made us feel comforted during this experience. It really was healing to watch the pieces be made, as Sharon had suggested to us. Brad handled the ashes with utmost care and respect, and did a beautiful job creating some truly amazing items for us that exactly fit our vision. He also offered suggestions on what he thought might look best, but also gave us the freedom to make choices on how we would like the pieces to look. I am so thrilled with how the pieces turned out. They are a gorgeous reminder/physical tribute to my mom, and I know she would love them, too. Thank you Brad, Sharon, and...
Read moreI learned so much and truly enjoyed the beginner glass blowing classes I took at Art By Fire! (I highly recommend them as an introduction into the beautiful world of blown glass.) The instructors were extremely good at teaching us a variety of techniques and the safe way to work in the studio, and we made multiple pieces per class: ornaments, cups, vases, bowls, paperweights and more! They hold special short classes for creating timely holiday pieces (like ornaments at Christmas time, heart-shaped paperweights near Valentine's Day, and pumpkins near Halloween and Thanksgiving). Try a quick class to get a taste of what creating your own pieces is like. Glass blowing classes also make a great gift for the creative people in your life.
Beyond the hands-on classes, the gallery is full of beautiful pieces made by local artists. I'd recommend making a special trip to see the finished products and maybe watch the artists at work through the special viewing windows into the studio.

Read moreMy daughter took me here for glass blowing. We've been several times to different places but found this one to be exceptional. Most glass blowing classes typically the instructor takes over but here they insist that for a positive experience and teaching you do it by yourself with their guidance which my daughter and I found quite fun and thoroughly enjoyed our time. We had 2 hours, 1 hour each which was plenty time to blow a vase and fluted bowl. We will...
