I have been to this establishment on several different occasions. They have fantastic food and generally facilitate an exceptional experience. On this occasion, however, the experience was less than mediocre. My friend and I were told at the door that we needed to pay a cover because they had a live band tonight. The band was not actively playing. We asked when they would be back on and how long they might be playing for considering the steep cover for this particular venue. The man at the door assured me that the band would be back on momentarily and would be playing until at least 1am. We entered at approximately 11:30. We ordered our food and the band did not get back on stage until after midnight. Our drinks were awful while the food was decent. My friend and I then realized that every single person entering even the very moment after us were not charged a cover. We asked about this after the band began packing up to leave at approximately 12:15, only 10 minutes after they had finally started playing again. The man who had charged us our cover very bluntly told us that there were no refunds and accused us of lying about the information he supplied us with. Had we known the entire story, we absolutely would have gone elsewhere. We asked to speak to the manager who proceeded to defend the behavior of his associate even after he began cursing at myself and my friend. They offered us free drinks which we declined given the poor quality of the drinks we actually paid for. I told the manager that I wanted nothing more than him to coach to his associates so as to avoid situations like this in the future. Taking into account that I had previously been a loyal patron. He half-heartedly assured me he would address the issue while his associate actively mocked us behind his back. I have never encountered such poor customer service in my life. I also think it's an absolute shame that the "manager" in charge was unable to even be aware of such blatantly awful customer service in the moment. I feel comfortable saying that this establishment has his highlights. But nothing can make up for the awful customer service or personnel management that actively takes place. We wanted to sit in a certain area but the tables we chose hadn't been wiped down And Another table in this section had a dead fly on it. Meanwhile, we witnessed the patron that greeted us tell the cashier that she had customers and she gave the patron the most nastiest look. Finally she came with menus....We requested that the table that we wanted to sit at was dirty and needed wiping down. She suggested that we sit in another area. We told her No we would like to sit at this table. She walked off with no explanation and reappeared with a towel and a spray bottle. The table with the dead fly on it was never cleaned off during the duration of my visit. We ordered 2 orders of duck wontons. I had the grilled shrimp skewers with sautéed vegetables and fried mushrooms. The highlight of this meal were the fried mushrooms and wontons. My shrimp lacked flavor. They were not grilled and the zucchini lacked flavor. My guest had the shrimp scampi pasta and it lacked flavor and it wasn't a true shrimp scampi. Bad customer service and the bad food experience earned this place only one star. I learned the waitresses name Yvette after she brought our check. I wasn't impressed with my first visit and I will not be back. Jackson has a plethora of fast food restaurants that will get my business faster than this establishment. I'm so disappointed because I've heard only great things about the establishment. I placed an online order(order #04BA9801), and it was a salad with chicken and shrimp(8), at 8:20. The estimated pickup time to be 8:35. My mom picks it up, but notice it is made wrong, so she sends it back to be remade. She waited an additional 35-40 minutes, while employees walked past her. She calls me, and say I'm still at this place because they made it wrong, and that was 30 mins ago and still no one has helped. hear the lady at the bar ask my mom what she was waiting on, and she tells her. She goes to back, comes right out with it. One. it is 4 shrimp on that salad; it's suppose to be 8. It is on the receipt. Two, the shrimp and chicken was cold, that was fresh at first. There was nnot any steam on the inside. Then I called the store several times, last night. I didn't get one answer, so even if I could have, I wouldn't have driven way back over there, for god knows how long of a wait it would have been.
